This is a really cool toy. As an Optimus fan (what a twist!) I think it's great to get an original mold Orion Pax. He's got all the pre-Optimus design cues you could want, the colors are great, and he's got pretty good detailing. The truck alt. mode is neat, and transformation is easy enough once you get past the torso transformation. I really like his weapons, though he's pretty heavily-armed for being just an historian...
This is the only toy I've gotten from this wave, but I've got high hopes if the others are as good in quality as Orion Pax.

Does Orion Pax's weapons fit in the hands of WFC Optimus Prime?

They're a tight fit even though they both have 5mm hands, but yeah. I just wouldn't try pushing the axe all the way in his hand, or I think the black paint on the handle would scrape off.

 

I still hate his conventional, Earth-based-looking alt mode.

Bot mode, however, is near perfection.

This totally feels like Prime to me. LOVE the alt mode. I love the internals jammed all up against the windshield. Think Drone. Think Car Drone.

 

This definitely will be bought on sight. Size issues aside, this is a beautiful sculpt with nice paint apps. I'm not sold on the alt mode but I never display my TF's like that anyway. Great pics!

 

My gf got him for me. Fun toy. Easy to transform. He is small but still optimus enough to be an early just join the force version of him.

 

a headswap with FoC Prime really makes this guy shine

Thanks for the review. This Orion figure looks like the right figure to go along with the FOC mold. showing him before he became a prime.

 

This is a solid action figure that actually transforms uniquely BRAVO Takara Hasbro, well done!

I wasn't going to buy him at first, mainly due to the ugly front facade, but that head sculpt is ACE and it turns out he has excellent flexibility...semi ratcheting joints and a great transformation.

 

The only thing that bothers me just a little is his alt mode. It looks like the designers couldn't choose between an earth mode or a cybertronian.

 

Best deluxe I played with in a while.

 

I say they chose...poorly.

 

Amazing deluxe. Way better then any foc and prime deluxe.
Only issue I have is the shoulders don't tab in solid in robot mode and don't tab in the back of the shoulders in robot mode.

 

I love this guy, he's almost as poseable as a Revoltech toy! (he have wrist swivel & ankle tilts)  

I don't really mind the size at all, since he's supposed to be a pre-Prime character.
