With the completion of Scamper: Heavy/Scratch: - Siege Scamper: Completed. came the necessity to complete the trio. Thus was born Slammer. Made from a Combiner Wars Rook (heavily modified), HftD Hailstorm tracks, some discreet MegaConstrux pieces, a gun from Movie 1 Jazz and lots of styrene and bits from the pile. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. The one thing these two projects (and the next one) have taught me is that I need a 3D printer. Replicating parts by hand sucks. The gang's all together now...
Wouldn’t have thought you’d use a Rook to make Slammer, what with all the deluxe sized tank toys available. But you did. And it’s GREAT. Reminds me of when I used to do old school mashups from spare toys just for fun. The challenge was more fun than just repainting a toy. Nice work bud!
@Scarlet knight Scamper, by far. I've always had a soft spot for the little guy, and making this one was satisfying. Also, I highly doubt we'll ever get more than the Legends figure that came with Metroplex, so making him was a no-brainer for me.
Dude that's awesome! I made a Slammer too and plan on making a Scamper as well as simple repaints, but you went the extra mile to distinguish them as their own selves! Makes me wanna post my Slammer...
I have the Takara one, and if I can somehow sneak it into work I will happily take pics of the complete crew.
Awesome! personally I would've kept half the treads on the chest like unite warriors Nosecone and added some grey to the head, But still, it looks great! could we see them with metroplex?
I had actually thought about leaving the treads on the chest, but I'm not a fan of treads in two different places only because they're hard to line up. I also like the massive feet. The head is actually a light gray, with white face pieces and dark gray detailing. As for Metroplex...
Slightly off-topic, but at my job they’re talking about training me at a (shared) desk job. If so I’m gonna bring in some TFs for the desk. I would probably be too busy to play with them but who cares haha hey Yaujta-think you can paint up a SS Movie Optimus Prime & trailer like a Sherwin Williams tractor trailer?
