You keep going on and on about how Fun Pub chose their molds. I've never disputed any of that. If your preference isn't to follow that model, I'm not arguing with you. I'm just saying that, for SG Megatron, specifically, I prefer what Fun Pub did to some idea that we have to do a Megatron mold now that we're not beholden to the same limitations. Why are you still pushing so hard on this?

I know I like that they look different than G1. Yes, it was because of the molds available, but it also helped differentiate them from the originals. That’s why I prefer they use the FP versions if possible.

This is the weirdest argument I’ve seen in a while. Railing against the “corporate” machinations of a small fan convention in defense of Hasbro. Asking us to think of the children, who desperately need their own Shattered Glass that’s somehow more slavish to G1 and less so to the SG Con ten years ago because…

the whole point of SG is that the characters aren't their original incarnations. And, if G1 gets slavish accuracy, why not SG?

I would certainly add to that, original SG (for whatever "corporate" reasons one might wish to discuss) wasn't strictly an "anti-G1" (perhaps even more specifically "anti-Classics") continuity (my terms, of course, but I hope they communicate). It's definitely the case that most of the references were to the G1 versions, but there were some non-G1 references, as well (I'm of course not counting the fact that most non-G1 continuities are heavy in references to G1).

That said, since it was posited by the end of Fun Pub's run that there were other SG universes out there, it's hardly a problem if the new SG that Hasbro's doing wants to be something different. And Rated X's main point that Hasbro may well see greater potential in appealing to a wider array of fans by sticking closer to the G1 template isn't even one I have much disagreement with. I just don't see the need to think of Megatron and Galvatron as such distinctly different individuals that SG Megatron "should" use a Megatron mold rather than a Galvatron mold (given the original SG Megatron's use of a mold that was, essentially, just a smaller version of Energon Megatron... called "Galvatron" in Japan, of course... I'm pretty happy to consider all molds for the archetype as "valid").

But, ultimately, I'm okay that the new SG Blurr looks more like G1 Blurr than Cybertron Blurr, for example.

I do think they made a less-than-ideal call for Goldbug... not so much that I think he should be a sports car, but that mold doesn't demonstrate what makes a Goldbug (any Goldbug?) different than the Bumblebee that presumably preceded it.

And, for better or worse, SG Starscream's opting for the Siege mold demonstrates at least some desire to resemble the original SG Starscream, or else they could have used a jet mode more in keeping with the original G1 look. I'm not too particular, either way. I'm just glad this version of the Siege mold FINALLY doesn't have Cosmic Rust all over it!

Have no clue what youre talking about or what an MPAA is. Maybe youre mistaking me for someone else who participates in group functions on this site. I roll solo.

X-rated movies became NC-17 movies in the 90’s.

‘Motions Picture Association Audience’ Ratings joke. One they apparently made an entire throwaway account, just today to make said joke

Anyway, I’m excited for Galvatron. Does the Matrix come off the chain? I’ve meant to ask someone about that.

No, it's moulded as one piece. I guess you can clip the chain off the matrix, but then you'll have to paint the base plastic to match.

The joke was his name was Rated NC17 and yours is Rated X. That’s all. I didn’t pay attention that it was a new account and was likely staged by him…

Kingdom Galvatron's Matrix does in fact come off the chain, I've removed mine a few times. It is a tight fit though.

Ok, it's two pieces, I don't know why I didn't look at all that closely. But, GOOD NIGHT, it was super tight! After a bit of wiggling, I was able to pop it off.

I've never been more happy to be wrong, I now love Galvatron all the more!

Yeah, I just preordered this version today.
