Here’s some quick pix I ‘snapped’ of my Snaptrap and his mods. They’re rough proof of concept kinda mods, that I may change around later, but overall I like it a LOT better than the ‘turtle’ HasTak gave us. I really didn’t like the tiny stumpy useless looking front turtle legs he was designed with, that look like a baby bjorn in robot mode. And I didn’t like how he had these gigantic back legs that stuck out way beyond the turtle shell. So I Removed his front legs, and got a spare G1 Snaptrap. I took the back legs from that and gave him much more functional front legs. Poor Snaptrap was already too much of a partsformer so I tried incorporating them into a part of transforming him. They now end up on the sides of his lower legs in bot mode. As for the rear legs, I cut his hands off(broke a claw in the process- ouch) and made posts to rotate on. Now he’s got the “bulldog” stance his G1 toy had, and looks much more ‘turtley’. Of course! And more explanation than anybody needs:D

When I get home and have some time. It’s amazing how little ‘work’ time there is for me right now. I just wanted to post...something. I quick snapped a few pix of him and Seawing before I left home.

I also have an issue with combined mode and how the back guns connect now. I have ideas and workarounds in place but I won’t truly know how I want to tackle it just yet. They still barely fit in the original 5mm plug, but they also fit in the rings left over from removing his front legs. I’ll post more pix as I get time

Here’s some more pix. I have no picture skills, or a good lighting source, or a place to set them down that doesn’t look like a cluttered distracting mess.

anyway, for the leg contraptions I used some K’Nex pieces, and attached it via a pinned hinge inside of Snaptrap’s swinging hinge in each leg. This allowed the new legs to reach the area inside the turtle shoulder/combiner port. It also allows them to swing over to the outside of the robot legs, and the back of the torso mode. Since the old legs are gone, it also gives Snaptrap a much cleaner and proportionate looking chest IMO. I still need to work out the torso mode kink of where to put the legs, and the back cannons. The new legs also need to be pinned down in robot/torso mode so they aren’t loose.

Please leave any thoughts questions and critiques! Thanks for looking.
