I just saw a video review for this guy and I really like how versatile he is, you can literally hideaway every bit of kibble and go for a "clean" look. When I saw that I instantly thought he'd look good in a Lost Light shelf as IDW 1.0 Megs.

Damn I like that scale between megs and Optimus. Megatron being slightly taller than Optimus like in prime.

Had this guy turn up today. Fortunately he didn't have any issues. The one thing that had me concerned - changing the face/forehead configuration turned out to be surprisingly easily. Now I've got him in my favourite mode - Battlemask face, jewelled forehead, mostly Super Megatron robot mode, (with full extended arm cannon and wings closed), Ultra mode chest and triple cannon on left shoulder.

All in all, a nice addition to my council of Megatrons. Now I want a Voyager class IDW-style stealth bomber Megatron. And a Megatron that turns into an actual regular submarine.

Pack it up, fellas, there's literally no need to make another G1 Megatron toy ever again, this is the one, just reissue Super Megatron once a year for the rest of time, it's the perfect G1 Megatron. No QC issues to report on mine aside from a very minor paint oopsie on his left foot. I've barely put him down since he arrived today, it's great fun switching through all the possible configurations. Also, I've decided that the Last Knight face is called Megatron Full Bastard Mode.

TFW you didn't get Star Convoy but you wanted to do a Super Megs vs [Autobot leader] pic so you decided on Dai Atlas because it was too much effort to remove the God Bomber armour from Super Ginrai.

Each wing has a small tab that's hard to see but if you cut it off, you can rotate the wings up like in the Super Megatron manga art instead of hanging down off his back.

This is one of the coolest figures I own, and absolutely one of the best Megatron figures ever made. The only one that compares is MakeToys Rioter Despotron (sorry SS 2007 Megatron), and the only one that beats him for me is Flame Toys 3K bomber Megatron, but...that’s an entire different tier of action figure. So yeah, this guy is top line. Even the box looks nice, it’s elegant and presents the figure well. I adore the face mask sculpt, it looks SO badass. They missed the mark on the red on his mouth a little, but alas. It’s a nod to Dark Nova and TLK Megatron, but someone mentioned earlier that they could use this as an early Megatronus/Fallen, and I agree (imagine this mold in black??). However, I’m quite impressed with the regular Megatron head, far more than I thought I would be; having the option to switch is great. Although it’s tedious to switch them, so I’m leaving the mask haha. I wanted to use him as an early Megatronus anyway. The ankles and hips on mine are slightly looser than I’d prefer, which sucks, but nothing Future can’t fix. The ankles are limited by the treads in the calves, so it doesn’t really matter.

I’m so tempted to buy a second one, but I’ll resist haha. Do yourself a favor and get this figure!! It can work with CHUG or Studio Series imo (Knightverse BB movie Megatron perhaps), it has quite a bit of grooves and details to make it fit with various aesthetics.
I REALLY hope Takara/Hasbro repaint this mold; black/purple for shadow Megatron, or black/orange for Fallen colors, or Shattered Glass Megatron would all be welcome.
Phenomenal addition to the collection — 9.5/10

If a third party ever did an MP scale Super Megatron like this, I’d probably lose my mind

Can you show where the tabs are (or were in your case)? I think I see what you’re referring to, but I wanted to be sure before I cut. Having them up like that looks much better than not

A little cut with a hobby knife and it's done. I even folded the wings up before I cut it but I did it to make it feel safer to do.

Classic pose, new body (minute nitpick, wished Takara used his Manga feet design instead). Still an awesome Megatron!

The most I can do to mimic his JP classic box art pose. I wonder if Takara could actually release Starconvoy as a halftrack in the future?

Finally got mine in hand and man oh man is this a great Megatron. Surprisingly enough, for all the cool stuff it can do I think I prefer it in the closest thing to a default robot mode it has; normal head, shoulder kibble folded down/out of the way, wings retracted and the fusion cannon as normal instead of split. There's something about how clean and sleek it looks without all the accoutrements turning him into a late 80's anime death machine that's very appealing. Not to say that the death machine isn't cool AF in itself, of course!

I think Takara would be better off designing new figures of the other Battlestars. I'd kill for a Commander class Grandus. The big guy needs some love too. :D

Got mine a few days ago. The ankle joints are a little loose, but other than that he is amazing. My previous main Megatron (Mega Steel Granville) broke a while ago, so this guy couldn't have come at a better time. And he is more than a worthy replacement.
The articulation is a great, with the only thing really missing being a wrist swivel. The robot mode looks fantastic and I love that there are so many possible configurations. The jet mode looks good and while I like the tank mode, it's definitely the weakest part. But overall, he is definitely one of the best Megatrons of all time. 8.5/10

Also, I noticed that you can remove the helmet, making it far easier to change the face.
