These could have been mainline releases... but I guess Abominus did so poorly as to make it impossible. :(

I would have army-built these guys, like in Super-God Masterforce! :D

As it is, paying a premium for re-tooled toys in a line with mediocre combiners (i.e. they need 3P add-on's to look half decent or stable!)? I don't see myself doing it.

I'll probably buy a couple of limb-bots (octopus and piranha!), though. I love me some Seacons! :D  I just wish they could be released in stores...

...only if they don't try to shoehorn monstructor into an abominus repaint: the combiner wars / scramble city system is a poor fit for the pretender monsters...

I am so hyped to get myself a CHUG Snaptrap. Im a younger collector, but one of the few G1 toys I had gotten from hand-me-downs was a Snaptrap.

It will also make a good torso for all my incomplete CW   ‘Cons.

I wonder if they'll be sold separately but close together....as they all look to be close to production ready.

Honestly if they come up with a good plan for two-bot torsos the CW model would work great for most every combiner. Including Ceasar.

Whats most interesting to me is that these figures are so insanely retooled from other combiner wars figures that they're pretty much wholly original combiner figures. I dont know who managed to figure out that Snaptrap is some crazy retool of Hun-Gurr, but man these figures are looking wonderful!

Almost to the point that i think they surpass the combiner.

When these guys all get colored up the gang is going to look incredible as a set of 6, and if there's anything i love rn its a uniform colored combiner, but the spindly two-leg-elbows and the wide Nautilator forearm (those legs couldn't have folded in?) make this dude look a little disproportional. I'm impressed they're keeping the "sixth member is a gun" model from the original, that must have been tricky to pull off, but these individual creature modes look so much better than the combiner if you ask me.

I'm very happy there's proper hands and feet to go with this big lad, still sort of weird that they're using another set of hands as heels though, makes me thunk Snaptrap will come with the feet, and everyone else comes with a hand.

Oh course I'm in for this set. The arm looks reinforced by ratchets so holding the sixth in gun mode should be fine.

If not, I'll just display him underwater!

So will these guys all be released at once, or one every month or so?

Individual prices make me fearful of a slow build up for a complete combiner.

Hmmm....... Taking the time to concoct the blueprints and quality needed to allow 2 Deluxe's to form a torso is likely something they might deem too cost effective even at $35 a piece.

I wonder how successful HasTak considered that LioKaiser exclusive. Sure it sold to some degree but did they take in the unhappiness that many fans had with the crappy Skylynx repaint they choose to use as its torso...? John Warden tends bring up a lot of our feedback when being interviewed at Toy fairs and Comic Conventions. But ultimately it's likely the greedy VP's and shareholders who tell him what to do.

Yep. But I remember when people were having aneurysms because HasTak dared to use the Silverbolt mold for Cyclonus.

Haha, I saw that and meant to quote it but forgot :D

Yup, that’s what I’m hoping. A two-bot torso could work for Liokaiser, Monstructor, and Dinoking. Considering the care that apparently went into this Seacons set to make them true to the original, I’m pretty confident Takara would do it proud.

If I can get free shipping somehow on these dudes from Pulse before we gotta pay for Pulse premium, I won't mind the price nearly as much. That said, I'm all in regardless.

Given how bulky the combiner connectors used in CW are, I actually don't think I'd want a two deluxe torso combiner.

Tentakill's tentacles are way disappointing but I bet those side blades on Piranacon's sword plug into the holes on the topmost ones.

Oh, but they should. Monstructor doesn’t deserve better. He was a tiny combiner, smaller than the Micromaster gestalts. It’s just not worth making new molds for them given how similar they are to the Terrorcons.

    Bristleback remolded from Snaptrap
Icepick, Scowl and Slog remolded from Blot
Wildfly repainted from Cutthroat with the unused Wildfly head
    Birdbrain remolded from Sinnertwin
    Hydrax remolded from Sinnertwin

That’s a seven bot combiner. Hydrax is a new character homaging the Bot Shots Hydrax repainted from Sinnertwin. Both Hydrax and Birdbrain would become the feet of Monstructor, making him the third largest combiner of Generations. They would not be extensive remolds, just the robot and monster head in most cases, and also a remolded tail for Birdbrain. None of the Pretender shells would be homaged at all, so their new team name would be Monstercons.

A dual-bot torso wouldn't need to use CW ports to come together. And if they were built to specifically form one torso (so Dinoking and Liokaiser couldn't mix torso halves) they could focus on building a stable connection that can hold limbs.

They could use it for a new Devastator too.
