Well, my Overbite and tentakil were supposed to arrive today. Then for some reason got pushed to Thursday... then they were out for delivery.

And now I own them. Piranacon is complete.  

I've got work tonight, but I can take some pics tomorrow. Oh, this is gonna be fun.

Nah, he's in quite securely. He's pegged in, he's wedged in and Turter isn't flopping around. So I'm going to leave Overbite as is.

 

I need to know where to get Deceptipillows.

 

For some reason the Hasbro boxes are different then the tfsource. But the cardboard boxes don't have the tsg and number on it. I have gotten mine all not through Hasbro and they where in cardboard boxes

 

Tentakill and Overbite arrived today, King Poseidon is complete!

My last 2 Seacons have arrived in the mail.

 

Mine's like that, too. I put a layer of floor polish in the peg port, and it holds well now.

 

Never had trouble securing sushi before!  

Just waiting for the shipping rates (DHL of course). The 6th and final as I tracked the appendages first. Hopefully 1st week of June they are all complete.

Start error or Turtler? 

My Gulf came with a cardboard box with the TakaraTomyMall vehicle icon. Once you open the box, you will get the standard "shoe box" with the black wrap around sleeve.

 

Takara box set had all six present. There were two different packaging art. One with and one without Nautilator / Lobclaw.

 

Wait. They have the same pose but one drew Nautilator as an arm holding Overbite and the other drew Overbite as an arm holding Snaptrap's rifle.

 

Yup. And the toon matches the 6-member version box art.

 

Here's the two versions:

 

Based on the art sans Nautilator, it almost makes me wonder if the light pink on Tentakil and Skalor was going to be the same purple used on Overbite before it was changed. As Snaptrap still has the light pink and their light pink is much darker and more purple.

 

Here is what doesn't make sense to me. Look at the bottom of Overbite's feet. They each have 3 peg holes for weapons.



Tentakil needs those holes on the bottom of his feet but doesn't have any. So I drilled my own holes.


Now here's the weird part. Tentakil's shoulders are molded in blue plastic. The legs on top are molded in light pink & totally painted blue. Don't paint apps cost extra money? Why the hell didn't they just mold them in blue? The holes I drilled look like shit & now I have to repaint them. In Beast mode you can't even see anything but in robot mode they look terrible because of the pink plastic that should've been blue.


On Skalor they put peg holes on the inside of the arms. WTF???


So I simply drilled through all the way. And again, instead of casting it in pink they cast it in blue & painted the entire piece in a totally different color. Doesn't that waste money for no reason? Forcing us to pay more?

And when I put the sword together I heard a SNAP. One of the parts cracked. This isn't a problem & the sword holds together fine. But it shows the shit quality of Takara products compared to the insane fucking prices they're charging. Their Maserpiece figures break. Their Microman figures disintegrate & crumble apart. Unite Warriors Motormaster's waist crumbles. And now this. And everybody defends their bullshit prices. I don't think these figures are worth anywhere near the prices they're charging. Now watch Aoyi Mech make bigger & better versions for only $18. Like they did with Abominus.



And now on ebay they're charging $500 or higher for this set. That's the same price as the 3rd party version. And they're all voyager class.

I'm happy to have this set because combiners are the most important thing to me. But This release has been nothing but a huge clusterfuck & a headache since day 1. I should be feeling elation but instead I'm just feeling relief that it's finally over & I can put it all behind me.  

 

I had the same thing happen when assembling the sword the first time too.

 

I think those holes are from where they inject the plastic for the mold

I highly doubt that

 

If that includes shipping $500.00 for a set is acceptable. I got all mine from Japan, DHL shipping cost not included totaled at around $325.00 for all 6 'cons.
