Because there would have been no delays of part of the team, no possible missed orders, less chance for error.

We had all of Combiner Wars for that in the US and it was great for then. But importing things is a different animal.

A gift set would have been nice, I can see the appeal, but we’ll get them all eventually, so I’m not really too bothered personally. Plus spreading them out probably made it easier for people on a budget to pick them up.

Also, getting individuals first means we can enjoy them in their individual modes, since most will inevitably get displayed in combined mode.

 

I will say the Seacons have swayed me. Honestly, they're a better deal than Big Powered was. They're more solid, better paint apps, nice plastic, and the parts count on the new stuff is HIGH.

They're well worth what Takara-Tomy is asking. I was so afraid to give them another shot, but they really want this to be a success. They're that good. Now, why can't their MPs be like this?

 

Just feels like certain people like to go “huh...no ones complained about the seacons being over priced for a bit. Better start stirring that pot”   

 

I’ll be the first to admit that was my problem with UW Computron. 3 years now I still feel like I havent spent enough time and given them the love they deserve because they’re always combined. That’s one reason why I decided to ship Turtler and gulf now instead of letting them sit in a loot.n

 

Same here. Having them in hand now really makes me appreciate the effort they’ve put into the individuals. I’ll be enjoying them throughly until the rest arrive. And since I ordered extra Tentakills, and I usually leave Overbite separate, I’ll be able to appreciate those even after they’re all combined!

Well, the G1 Turtler figure was actually made to be a turtle. CW Silverbolt was made to be retooled and re-engineered into many different characters, so of course the Geenrations Selects Turtler figure will carry traits and remnants of past uses of the mold, like Hun-Gurr's dragon hind legs/robot arms.

looks like Kabaya gum model kits, they are cheapnmodel kits that come with gum

 

They can transform between robot and alternate forms and the ones based on combiner components can actually even combine too. Pretty astounding considering how small those things are.

 

In the modern day and age everything is an import. Also all of the MP. Line is imports. Basically any store can order them and put them on the shelf/online retail.
My go to online retailer has 10+ of each on his site for wave 1. Meaning in stock 10 to? 50? Depending how many he ordered.
The only difference here is the window in which retailers could put down preorders and the total number of figures world wide will reflect that initial orders. Thats all.

 

I understand you. I didn't grow up rich. My very first transformer was Nosecone. I had friends at school having tons of transformers. But I had a real transformer and it was mine. I played with him so much. Kept transfoerming him.
My grandpa got me scattershot for my birthday.... How did he know I had another technobot!? And then my mom bought the other 3. But those first 2 remain very dear. Discoloration and sticker wear do not take away those fond memories.

Yeah those are the Kabaya ones.

 

I do wonder if the Seacons might be a special case. Since Japanese media portrayed all the limb-bots as mindless drones that existed in huge numbers, there may well be an incentive to make these available individually that doesn't work the same as other combiners. A giftset works when there's exactly one member of each type you need to include, but when you might want, say, a dozen Gulfs, selling them as giftsets becomes prohibitive.

 

man I wish I had a full team as a kid. Tigertron and I were just sharing memories of combiners as kids. I had hungrr, a few Seacons and afterburner and that’s all for scramble city.

 

Hell, the Seacons were the only full team I had as a kid. I got the gift set for Christmas back in Kuwait, but I lost it all after the Gulf War. A horrible casualty of war. So you can imagine my excitement to reunite all the Seacons again.
