I'm not one to argue with a horrible pun. So I'll go with it!

Also hip/shoulder ratchets are infinitely better in combined mode for Snaptrap than they were for HunGurr.

Why a gift set though? When I got my g1 transformers non was giftsetted. It feels natural to me to buy each bot seperate.

Besides, a gifts set would have been $250-300 and then there’d be complaining of the high upfront costs and the advantage of selling them individually. Basically, either option would bother a segment of collectors.

Agreed; I’m still hoping for a third-party shell extender so the back legs are covered.

It's not that the shell is too short, it's that the rear legs are just awkwardly positioned, just as they were with Hun-Grr.

I missed out on the Pulse preorders, but have Gulf/Skalor and Turtler/Snaptrap pre-ordered from BBTS. TFSource appears to have Overbite and Tentakil for pre-order, so that works for me...

What are my best options as a US buyer for getting Seawing/Kraken and Nautilator/Lobclaw?

you’re gonna wanna email bbts man. Some people did and bbts told them they won’t be selling them. I canceled mine the moment preorders were brought back to tfsource.

I c whut u did thar. All joking aside, there's a lot of new stuff on these two figures. I have to say I'm impressed with TFSource. They won me over. Packed REALLY well, shipped fast, and kept their word.

And dang, Tak-Tom put some real effort into these. Pictures don't do them justice. At all.

I just got my first set from TFSource... first impressions: they are fantastic, the colors are much more vibrant in person. My joints seem nice on tight on both, no issues there like others have reported. The combined-mode hands and feet are major upgrades. Now I am really hoping Takara redoes Liokasier next, although I believe they said they were taking a break from combiners after this.

I definitely think we will see these again in a set form or re-release. Who would have imagined, for example, that Hasbro would release Marvel BAF figures for a third of the price?

Pulse may even stock a supply upon release: Lancer came back after initial sellouts.

The "limited" nature of these toys are a bit of trickery. You are definitely paying more out of fear, rather than genuine appreciation of these overpriced deluxes! :)  Disagree, if you like, but be warned: you are joining the "pay to play!" ranks! :lol

They run the same as other Takara deluxe imports have run in the past, as @tigatron2002 and others have pointed out numerous times in this thread, so they aren't really overpriced when you take that into consideration. They also come packed with a lot more items than a standard deluxe. Instead of one gun and the hand like most of the other combiner limbs, you get two guns, a hand, a sword, and an additional tail/gun with Gulf. And let's face it, the paint apps are better than a standard Hasbro deluxe release. I doubt the teeth would have been painted on Gulf for example. So yes, I'll disagree on that point. Will they re-release them later? Who knows, I can't say definitively, but I wouldn't count on it.

    And I'm definitely buying them fear-free. ;)
