mainlines are unified, sublines can go in their own directions. all mainline figures are identical going forward, but just because takara releases a figure in a subline doesnt mean hasbro is going to do a domestic version of the figure, though the recent trend is that they at least import it

These look great but that price?!?! :/ Hopefully, they won't be as much on Pulse or pass. If decent priced ANNNND sold separately like here, Skalor's always been my least favorite and will probably be skipped. He looks accurate but looks way too much like Rippersnapper in bot mode.

 

I have no problem with this. These guys have accessories and specialized tooling up the wazoo.

Basically after Galvatron is buried under the ice in the Arctic Circle at the end of the japanese Headmasters Series, a new evil entity called Dark Nova later revives him & gives him a new body, now calling him Super Megatron, to go up against the resurrected Optimus Prime (who’s now Star Convoy)

Here’s a translated version of the preceding 2 page comic (where Galvatron got the thing he’s chowing down on!) which Takara released back in April to tease Star Convoy & Super Megatron.

 

You mean creators of the transformers because that’s what they are. Hasbro licensed all their toys from other brands from Takara, Bandai etc and made them sellable. Takara didn’t even jump on the wagon until 1985 when they got rid of all those toys of theirs and recolored and repacked all their stuff into the success it is. Without hasbro Transformers wouldn’t exist

If Takara are the “true masters” than how come they need hasbro to sell it?

If Takara is so much better than why are they waiting on the crowdfund to succeed to make unicron instead of saying “fuck the crowdfund” and just make it themselves?

Soooooo much win... I can deal with them being released as 'waves' and I like the "buy separately or as a 2 pack" approach. Makes a 1click purchase for both nice and easy

 

Because things can change in an instant. If Walmart buyers were to say they wanted to put these in their stores for the same price as any other Transformer deluxe/voyager, do you really think either Hasbro or Takara are going to hesitate for an instant to say yes? Hasbro has said nothing about the new Seacons yet, but they have always been able to use Takara-initiated molds on simple handshake agreements. Look no further than the "Gentei" Thrust and Dirge, that were STORE EXCLUSIVES in Japan and a year later Hasbro released them with minor deco changes (read: improvements, nobody cared for stripes on the under side of Dirge's wings) at general retail.

And Star Convoy proves nothing. So he was the first Takara Selects item. Hasbro could've ignored him if they felt like it but basically popped him onto Pulse as-is. Him going on Pulse was a surprise and maybe a bit of a mercy since fans could get him without dealing with other importers. He is still a self-contained package, no need to buy five other products for him to be complete.

And Masterpiece releases are basically on the same road they have always been. Maybe before there were minor differences between a Hasbro and Takara version of an MP. But being exclusive to one retailer is how they have always been from Hasbro.
