My Walgreens guesses thread has been having fun discussion in it, so lets try this. So far in the Selects line, we've gotten POTP and Siege figures repainted/remolded. I will not count the Amazon/Target exclusive sets, as they're technically not Generations Selects figures. Who do you think will get this treatment with Earthrise molds? Or maybe another Siege mold is still to come?

I wouldn't rule out a toy version of Astrotrain. I expect a Nemesis Prime repaint of Optimus wouldn't be in this line.

I think Artfire from ER Grapple is a certainty. I suspect Hauler and Bulkhead from that mold may show up somewhere too, though not necessarily here. I expect a Seeker who like Red Wing isn't from some kind of trio, so G2 Starscream, G2 Ramjet, Nacelle or Slipstream.

There's no shortage of Diaclone versions of Hoist to pull from. Exhaust seems to be in the main line, so I'd anticipate Slicer instead. I think Hubcap will be available some other way, so I don't know what if anything they'll do for Cliffjumper.

 

well we got 8 deluxes, 2 voyagers and 1 leader in siege. i also theorize crosshairs was intended to selects, which would have given us 12 total releases in 2019. using that as a starting point we know 1 of the deluxes is a micromaster spy patrol, assumed to be redecos of all 4 tapes since its a deluxe price

I really wish they would consolidate the Selects branding with the various retailer exclusives. They could keep the basic brown packaging for the online-only stuff (and maybe call them "Online" or "Direct" while store items have the retailer's name/logo somewhere). Anyhow:

Roller: Assuming he can be re-mold buddies with the potential Fasttrack, I could see two variants. A mostly blue version that comes with a matching blue version of Leader Optimus' repair drone, and a grey Roller that has Prime's axe and miscellaneous accessories.

Armada Thrust: Assuming we see proper Thrust tooling sometime in ER, this would be a nice version that is different from most seekers (and he predates Acid Storm).

I like the logic behind these guesses. The only thing I would add is that I would totally buy an ER Nemesis Prime Selects figure if it had really great paint apps like the regular release has.

 

thanks. i thought about putting nemesis in the leader spot, but given hasbros track record with nemesis redecos lately i think cybertron defense red alert is more likely, though an er nemesis prime would be gorgeous

 

Totally agree. I’m also crossing my fingers that ER Optimus also gets an Ultra Magnus remold (something you’ve talked about in other threads). Unfortunately none of the current rumors hint towards that.

There’s a lot that we already know about ER but there’s also a lot that we don’t. I’m excited!

I think we’ll get a Nemesis redeco. Amazon exclusive or general retail feels more likely.

I also think an MP10G redeco feels likely.

Hasbro billed Collaborations as a LINE. They also now have the main Ghostbusters toy license and will be doing 6 inch figures of the main 4 originals that we’ll see at ToyFair. They likely need to have more Ghostbusters product to justify the license and TF crossovers — particularly MP10G — are easy.

My money would be on a sequel comic and October release with GB/TFs filling the 35th Anniversary style figures role this year as a Halloween Walmart Exclusive.

You could get Ghost Starscream, Ecto-35 Optimus... I don’t know if they’d ignore scale and reissue Ectotron or maybe redesign him to work with a smaller mold like a flipped Wheeljack retool or something. You could fill things out with other ghosts. And this year Hasbro could do Ghostbusters themselves — maybe as Targetmasters? Or headmasters? I feel like Targetmasters that become proton wands would work well.
