Ah, there's my boy. Lookin' good! Although, I would prefer if the red on the hood extended forward a bit more. It stops a little too far back IMO. But that's a minor nitpick. He's a definite buy for me, naturally.

Redwing
Hot Shot
Delta Magnus

Lancer and Redwing are both practically leaked by Hasbro. Hot Shot is a less safe bet as alternate head toolings don’t equate to figures.

Delta Magnus feels like a safe guess based on what we’ve seen.

 

Think about other possibilities for part 2 and 3 if they kept 35th anniversary or Select.

 

I just can't get into these "Cybertronian" alt modes that are mimicking their earth modes with slight changes. Their alt modes are so in between that they aren't convincing Cybertron or earth vehicles. Smokescreen is an easy pass for me. I have zero interest in any Autobot cars in this style. (Sideswipe being the only one close enough to an earth vehicle for my liking.)

 

I like that these cybertronian alt modes bring the 84 bots more in line with the movie 86 crew’s alt modes like HotRod, Kup, etc.

 

Well Cybertron isn’t real and their is no definitive look for them who cares? We saw less than 10 in the original cartoon and the majority of them were were tetra jets and boxes with a windshield and a giant purple laser gun.

Yeah, I figured they get Smokescreen out early, to go with Bluestreak and Prowl, now we just need Jazz, Skids, Trailbreaker, Hoist, Tracks, Sunstreaker, Wheeljack, Inferno, Grapple, Arcee, Hot Rod, Kup, Blur, the Mini Bots........

 

I never mind adding a few touches of paint to my figures.

You are correct in that we saw very few Cybertronian alt modes in the pilot episode. However, the few we saw established that the Cybertronian modes were different from their earth forms. The seekers, Bumblebee, Wheeljack, etc. had alt modes that weren't just merely recreations of their future earth modes with slight Cybertronian details. The alt modes were shaped entirely different. If the modes we did see looked different, there's no reason to think characters whose alt modes we didn't see, like Prowl, Hound, etc., would be an exception.

If people like these, great. Buy them. But it's an easy pass for me.

 

While it’s completely different from the G1 continuity and a different iteration, I think it’s also worth adding that the High Moon games also established that the Transformers don’t simply transform into their earth vehicle modes with some “Cybertronian detailing” here and there. They transform into vehicles that are alien and even futuristic looking. I like the Siege line and I’ve become invested in it, but I feel Hasbro could’ve tried a bit harder to evoke that Cybertronian look in the toys. It’s a missed opportunity in my opinion.

 

They were going for sunbow bot modes more or less. A high moon aesthetic doesn’t really allow for that without being needlessly complicated and using a ton of fake parts

looks okay.....but i already have a couple smokescreens. honestly the cybertron one with reprolabels is still one of my favorites. i dunno why...

i'll wait to see how bluestreak looks but so far i'm thinking barricade uses the mold the best. that's the one i'm looking forward to the most out of the four potential characters.

 

Very nice figure! It’ll be awesome to see all the seige Datsun brothers together including barricade. Also since this is the official image for smokescreen, I can imagine him showing up on Hasbro Pulse soon like star convoy

 

I love you guys but I don’t understand the mentality of “they didn’t look just like that in the G1 cartoon so I’m not interested.” For what it’s worth, they do look like Siege in the new IDW comic and they will in the new Netflix show too. I’d much rather a slightly tweaked earth-looking car than some kind of unrecognizable box or flying saucer.
