Just a comparison with the other WFC Trilogy "Lambos" I owned so far in alt mode...

    IMG_20201222_174815.jpg

While the hue/saturation of the red colour used on Spin-Out does look quite similar to Siege Sideswipe's red colour on the first glance, in-person the red color on Spin-Out was actually slightly lighter than Sideswipe's. While both Spin-Out and Cordon wasn't painted quite to the same extent as both Sideswipe and Tigertracks (Where basically all yellow or red parts on them are all painted), the plastic colour on Spin-Out and Cordon was luckily a closer match to the painted red/white than whatever Sunstreaker was.

Having just received mine, still majorly disappointed that this mold (and the Siege Swipe mold) did not come with spoilers.

Got my set in today and i freaking love these guys. I passed on Sunstreaker due to the awful mismatched yellow and I don't regret it, because these fellows are great.

I did have the issue with Spinout's rear wheels popping off, so I thickened the ends of the tabs with dabs of super glue and he's right as rain.

As others have noted, they'd benefit from having real guns, or at least transforming superchargers that turn into guns – you listening, 3rd parties?

I also do find the black forearms look odd in alt mode; on dark surfaces, it's like the back of the car disappears. And Cordon does need the painted windshield.

Still, I don't mean to complain too much. They look and feel great in hand.

Does the paint match on these two? Any qc issues with the hinges on the legs when transforming?

Color match is great, as photos show.

Legs are difficult to untab going from alt mode, but I don't know if that's what you mean by QC issues.

Biggest issue I've found is the car roof doesn't peg property into the slots for it in the robot legs; a bit of sanding to thin the pegs fixed it right up.

I'll add this to my list of stuff I might get. Untabbing the hinges on my sunstreaker feels like it's going to break at times, leg/hips are tight that I have to slowly and carefully hold the hip joint lest I break the leg by holding the thigh when trying to pose it.

If your copies of the figures have trouble with the car roof unable to peg properly into the pegholes on the legs for transformation to vehicle mode, I would suggest cutting and widen the peg holes on the legs rather than the pegs under the car roof, as those pegs also play a role by tabbing in on the figure's torso in robot mode.

I thought of that, but I didn't want to affect the appearance of the peg holes, since they show on the back of the legs. The roof tabs in securely enough in robot mode even after the mod.

I got my two-pack yesterday and I'm sadly disappointed. They've each got frustrating QC issues. Cordon's shoulders aren't pinned correctly and are crooked. His arms stick out to the sides in car mode with a wide gap in between. Spin-out has a bum foot assembly and the ankle piece can't sit flush with the hood in car mode. Looks like the plastic holding the ankle is warped as well. The car roof issue I can fix like I did Sunstreaker but the other flaws I doubt I can. It's such a pain. I really like the ER Sunstreaker mold and it's like they botched it.

I don’t have these but they certainly dropped the ball with Cordon. So many basic details they overlooked or didn’t bother with. Cordon should not have just been Sunstreaker in white with an added light bar. He needed the point at the front, the text on the sides and a painted windscreen. And I read that he is missing black paint at the rear of the car that Sunstreaker has.

Sunstreaker does look better in person than he does online. Online photos do make the yellow paint stand out more to the yellow plastic than it actually is, and that was a huge turn off for me as well. I got him recently and was pleased that it wasn’t as bad as I feared it would be.

I just got these two in today and they're pretty great. There are nitpicks here and there to be had (the dark green instead of black) but it's different colors of an already fantastic mold so I'm up for it.

I originally planned on skipping this mold outright, but caved and bought this set.
Overall they're okay, and nothing special imo. I agree that these guys deserved rifles instead of the air intake, so I bought the nonnef set.

So it sounds like making the holes bigger is the trick and it be solved right? I am frustrated since they look awesome in robot mode but that alt mode roof problem makes me want to return it since I bought it for the alt mode. Besides I don't know these characters so them in robot mode has no connection to me. But I can admire a cool looking car that blends in with rest of the autobots from G1 pre-movie.

All that said how are you able to sand the peg hole? What tool are you using?

All I did was use a sharp hobby knife, and just cut out just a tiny bit of plastic around the holes on my copy.

I finally go these guys and opened them up today! I am totally in love with their looks... so much better then Sunstreaker. Now all that remains is getting them better guns. The ones included stay on their backs.

I'd be interested in picking these up, but putting different heads on them to make new characters - Sunstreaker's head design is just too unique to him to be able to see them as separate characters.

Figured I wouldn’t like paying the late-late fee on these guys when stock dries up… so I finally caved and just ordered a set! (Ordered from Surethingtoys.com for 42.99 and free shipping).

Might get the nonnef sets or the JRC Design eBay ones… not 100% sure until I get these in hand.

I’m just planning on using Siege Cog’s two black guns for now, so that covers weapons. Don’t know if the lack of spoilers will bug me.

It doesn’t on Sunstreaker… but that’s because the paint job gradually annoyed the hell out of me that I didn’t even want to look at the figure anymore, lol.

I think it’s a nice mold though, and looking forward to getting these guys despite repeatedly talking myself out of it months ago, lol.

    Well, these are disappointing.

I haven't bought any Transformers in a while, I just got exhausted a little after Combiner Wars when it seemed like there was no end to the nostalgia harvesting in sight. I downsized heavily, shrunk my display space down to just a few shelves for all my toys, and kind of left it at that - a slowly shrinking collection that's barely visible in the background of my work Zoom meetings.

But, recently my kids have been having a lot of fun playing with some of my MPs, and they asked for some Transformers of their own. One of them wanted a police car and the other really likes red, so this 2-pack seemed perfect. It wasn't hard to find for a "decent" price - about $40 - and I'll skip the rant about how figures are a lot more expensive and a lot less substantial than they were 15 years ago (wait a minute...)

So - I got the 2-pack in a few days ago and got the figures out this morning. Right out of the box one of Spin-out's wheels was off. Both the rear wheels on both figures pop off whenever the boys try making a turn with the cars on the carpet. One of them is so loose, if I turn the figure sideways the wheel just falls right out. Neither of them have a roof that tabs in correctly, it's too tight a fit. On both figures, the right leg is exceptionally difficult to get out of car mode, to the point I'm worried it's going to break. The plastic even feels a bit KO-like. It seems these issues are fairly common.

And this is on a special "exclusive" set!

Really, Hasbro? Is this why everyone has been complaining about poor QC for so long? I thought maybe it was an exaggeration, but... nope. It really is that bad.

So happily, I see some of you have identified fixes for most of these issues. I guess pinned wheels would have been too expensive in these modern, supply-constrained times, so I'll see if I can fix them with properly applied and dried glue so the wheels still spin. You know, like wheels. And I'll have to carve the slots on the legs to try and get the roof parts to tab in properly. And see what I can do about that very tight right leg transformation.

As my first step back into mainstream TF figures in a long while, I'm really disappointed. I had ordered a few others and I'm really hoping they aren't as poorly handled as these were.

The worst part? It's actually kind of a fun transformation, and both modes are pretty nice! They're just terrible as toys.

    Absolutely, positively, not recommended.
