Boring! Overall this years choices of obscure characters by Hasbro have been "MEH"! Kudos to those who like this repaint but I can think of at least 30 other C and B-list characters that deserved more love and would've received more attention from collectors... But oh well.
Three uses of the Inferno/Grapple mold is still under acceptable use even if you don't like their choices. Also, this is the first release of Artfire by Hasbro in America. He is one of those characters who deserve more love.
You obviously DO NOT KNOW the significance of this Japan centric character who is a super rare find in the after market and basd on this original toy...Stop with your negative vibes dude.
.........Is there somewhere in my post where I told you not to buy it? To me it doesn't have the uniqueness that a Seeker does, who despite sharing the same mold all still have their own individuality. Plus there are many G1 characters that I wasn't familiar with that I've done research on and one me over once I've seen a pending toy. This isn't one of them.. This Artfire figure just looks like Inferno with a white apron on. ~by Me How in the "Energon Cube Making" FCUK is that negative vibes? Go and buy 20 of them since I'm not interested in buying 1. Beyond that my "vibe" is to Hasbro and how they can get more than just your money and attention in the future... That's the big picture here.
You can appreciate a toy existing without having any inclination to actually buy it. I won’t be buying Artfire unless he ends up on deep clearance later, but I do appreciate that he exists.
That white really makes him pop! I've been wanting an Artfire ever since I found out the G1 toy existed, so it's nice to get one at an affordable price, & with a targetmaster to boot! Really looking forward to getting this. (Could we one day get a G1 reissue, please?)
Actually, Artfire is ticking a major box for a lot of those who are collecting Japanese G1, now all we need is Stepper (From the SS86 JAZZ mold) to complete the set. And if we could also get Hauler, Pointblank, Sureshot, & the Throttlebots, I do believe that most G1 Seasons 1-4 collections should be about complete. Then we can zero all our focus in on the Japanese portion of the G1 continuity!
Stepper (I refuse to call him Ricochet) had a release in POTP (regardless of the fan opinion), so while it would seem like a no brainer to do him with the SS86 mold, I wouldn’t guarantee it. In the meantime, my United Stepper is still safe from being replaced. The POTP one is with my combiners.
Yeah I started to call him Stepper lol (Sounds much better imo!). I also have the POTP Stepper, and have him as part of a Combiner team as well. I'm trying to avoid displaying any combiner style bots in there individual bot modes. I missed out on the United Stepper, so definitely hopping we get an SS86 mold update soon.
I think Artfire looks fantastic for what it represents, and this is much less expensive than the Takara Generations book version. Unfortunately, as I already have the Takara one and don’t feel like replacing it (especially since using the Universe Inferno mold makes the character look more distinct from Kingdom Inferno), I don’t expect I will get this one.
I meant United Stepper. He looks great. I have United Artfire as well, but I can’t stand how floppy that mold is. I love the WFC Inferno mold, so I’ll just be transferring his Targetmaster to the Selects Artfire (likely along with Sparks) since it’s colors are more accurate.
The missing stickers was bothering me I forgot about toyhax! They will hopefully fix this right up! I'm getting it regardless.
back in the day I soooooo would have bought this. I wanted a Artfire so bad to go with my hasbro release of steppper. But now, now I only buy toys for my kids ( love doing it, so much fun ) and they arent interested in him as he doesnt appear in the cartoon and they think he looks too much like Inferno. So skipping it. but man is it hard to. Sigh just like 20 some years too late for me. But super happy Japanese characters are getting released. I want all of the ones that showed up in the cartoons for my kids.
United Artfire is choinky and out of proportion too, literally. Its the mold's fault really. The Generations Inferno mold hasn't aged well.
