It feels like gen selects lately has mostly been focused on doing characters that already shared molds with new figures. Characters like artfire from inferno, and the diaclone characters. Does anyone else feel this way? Am I noticing a pattern where there is none?

A retool/repaint of combiner wars First Aid into Crankcase (or any combiner wars mold that may fit him) so that he can complete the trio of triggercons. We already got a Windsweeper and Ruckus, but they didn’t make a slot for crankcase.

Also Brave Max repaint of Fort Max.

    MetroTitan from metroplex

Omega Spreem from Siege Omega Supreme

I think a part of that is just simply that a lot of recent mainline molds have a ton of historical redecos that they can pull from. They've also been giving Diaclone more love lately, so that's going to just be redecos too.

It's also possible those types of selects are easier to do with Covid going on. That said, that is kind of the mandate for Selects, at least the Hasbro one. It tends to be the Takara Selects that does the more extreme things like Super Megatron or the Seacons.

It probably doesn't help that vocal parts of the fandom get pissy when Hasbro does non traditional repaints/remolds like Selects Nightbird or Hot Shot.

I think it'd be pretty easy to do Archforce & Slicer. You've got the perfect molds to choose from. Just go for it.

After watching the new Cyberverse movie, I'd love to get a redeco of ER Ramjet as Afterburner, complete with a Merc logo

I wouldn't hate Studio Series Ratchet (Bumblebee movie) re-decoed and re-headed as an Autotrooper. I think the design aesthetic crosses over just fine into non-SS Generations (WFC/Legacy aesthetic) as long as they give the toy a new head.

So I really want a toy coloured paint job on the Kingdom Cyclonus mold! Come on Hasbro, if we can get Ranger and Puffer, Hubcap and other obscure characters, I feel a toy coloured Cyclonus is a good shout!

He would go well with the Selects Galvatron in toy colours, and the Sweep who is essentially toy coloured Scourge (not seen Sweep in hand but seen pictures with the G1 figure and the blues see to match close enough)

If the rumors are to be believed, there’s one coming. It’s supposedly going to be sold under the name “Armada Cyclonus” and is meant to be the second Cyclonus seen in the movie, but in toy colors.

Blurr would be better, it would be much easier to give him a reasonable accurate vehicle mode that way plus I feel like Scourge has such a distinct silhouette it should be reserved for him and his Sweeps. I could make an exception for Alpha Trion too, but only because he's normally depicted with a cape anyway so the kibble works better for him than it would for Devcon.

I think you'll largely find it's because it's very cost effective to do so. Some of these molds, like Galvatron in particular, can only be made as one thing, period, so having different versions of Galvatron makes making that specialized Galvatron figure worth doing.

Are you thinking Siege/ER Megatron for Archforce? Frankly, I'm hoping we get a dedicated G2 Megatron mold (green tank and/or hero version) in the next while. It's nice getting G2 homages, but the robot mode (specifically the chest) is always still just G1 Megatron. If we're getting a new Megatron every 2-3 years anyway and it's almost always a tank, why not just close the loop and make it a full G2 homage as the primary use (you can always still put it out in silver/black too to make the G1 quota)

Just noticed how cool Reboost looks. Very Prime-y and heroic. Plus, it's a new character. Sign me up for it in Generations Selects. I don't like the Skids mold much but black (Burnout) and red (Reboost) do make things look a lot better. Similarly, that Legacy Arcee needs a Flamewar recolor stat.

I wouldn't mind SS Brawn becoming a retool of Nosecone. The alt mode is pretty spot-on for that character.
