Now y'all got me thinking of some easy redeco/retools:

G1 Slipstream- new head retool of Earthrise Starscream

Nightracer- new head retool of Sideswipe

Armada Cliffjumper- new head retool of Hound, alternatively a repaint of a micromaster

Fracture- Crasher-themed redeco of Siege Mirage

Twirl and Falcia- redecos of the Air Strike Micromasters

G1 Shatter and Dropkick- new head retools of TR Blitzwing and Siege Springer
-name Shatter's headmaster 'Bassett' in reference to her voice actor in Bumblebee

Strongarm- new head retool of Siege Hound as a G1 version of the RiD15 character

G1 GoBots- Path Finder from Gen. Cosmos, Small Foot from Gen. Gears, Bug Bite from TR Bumblebee, Treads from CW Warpath, Bad Boy from CW Powerglide, and road Ranger from CW Pipes

Anode and Lug- new head retools of Earthrise Starscream (same head as Slipstream maybe?) and TR Rumble

Spacewarp- new head retool of Siege Astrotrain (with more purple and yellow so she doesn't look exactly like him)

 

Action Master/Shattered Glass Thundercracker from the Earthrise seeker mold

 

Redeco Strongarm into Nightra (who also didn't get an RID toy when she was basically a repaint).

 

Oh , I know this, i`m just curious as to if it could/might happen at some point down the line .. chances are a maybe ( I think , lol.) if TT is doing it, chances are Hasbro might in the future ... you never know... crazier things have happened in the past 4/5 years , lol.

i doubt it, again, theyre two different lines with similar goals but different tactics. i wouldnt expect a new mold in either generation selects or generations selects unless its a mold share with a mainline figure that just happens to see release before the mainline figure

How about updating this:








Mirage GT = WFC:S Mirage mold in Neon yellow.
Scavenger = Studio Series Scrapper with a new head, in blue and white
Nightcruz = Suprisingly can't pic a good deluxe-sized mold, but in black. Ideas?

 

Honestly this seems like the perfect place to do an actual Shattered Glass subline as they're all pretty much redecos of existing characters!

Idea for RiD/Car Robots:

Car Brothers using Japanese names:

Counterpunch redecoed as Mach Alert/Prowl.
Sideswipe (or Hot Rod if we get one soon) as Speedbreaker/Side Burn.
Hoist/Trailbreaker (preferably the latter for a hatchback style truck bed cover) as Wildride/X-Brawn.

 

I would be totally cool even if they used the CW Trailbreaker mold for him as well. I'd actually buy that (not buying Earth Wars, or whatever, figures beyond a couple of them).

 

I would totally dig a Scattorshot from Ironhide and a Red Alert from Impactor to go with Hotshot.

 

You know I never really liked how extremely powerful he was portrayed in the comic, but that being said, I would not say no to an Earthrise Sunstorm in a darker yellow/orange than Siege Solarstorm and since we have effect parts now, how about some rippling solar energy add on parts.

Oh hell yes! I loved Nightcruz! On a deluxe level, I can see the old FoC seeker mold making a pretty good base.


And after seeing some of the new Earthrise molds, I definitely want to see Hauler and maybe Artfire from the new Grapple mold. Want to see Inferno as well but I'm hoping he might be a general release. Also want to see either the Siege version of Optimus Prime or the Earthrise remold with trailer repainted as either Thunderclash or Toxitron.

Since I swore off 1985 characters to keep things into budget, I REALLY want Hauler. I might break down and get Grapple since cartoon Hauler looked like Grapple but I really want Hauler. Then again, I’ve resisted the Powerdashers so far under the idea that I have too many Autobots and not enough Decepticons. I’ve pretty well decided my Decepticons will need reinforcements. Right now, I’m trying to think what Decepticons compliment an 84 lineup. The ones from Animated work for me and an evil Optimus Prime likely would, whether Nemesis Prime or Toxitron. Barricade is a maybe. I’m trying to keep it all iconic and something that fits on a 36”x14” shelf. The coneheads are a maybe.

Curating any collection where you’re trying to focus narrowly has its stresses. Especially when Selects characters can come along that bend your rules for what you collect.

 

Slicer from Wheeljack is my main repaint want so far.

Inferno from Grapple should also be in GS, so that he doesn't waste a spot in the mainline.

Same with Trailbreaker from Hoist. He shouldn't hog a mainline release when other characters need it more.

I would honestly be happy with a GC Pointblank from potp Punch if they at least give him a spoiler, but I really think Pointblank should have a dedicated mold.

I hope any Earthrise seekers apart from Starscream won't even be individual GC releases but will all be in boxsets. Even the Coneheads.

 

I’m of the mind that Trailbreaker needs more remolding than just the head, although I’d take that if it’s all we can get.

I did a rundown awhile back of TFs by frequency of appearance in G1 and while it’s been awhile now since I watched S1-2, by pure NUMBER of appearances, Trailbreaker was one of the most frequently seen Autobots. I don’t have a huge emotional attachment to him but I kind of think he’s one of the more important nostalgia characters.

Not only do you need the back canopy retooled but I think Trailbreaker should have reduced hanging arm kibble. Several toys have made this distinction and 3P toys do as well. The animation models differed on the arm kibble. Maybe a hinge to fold up the hanging arm kibble.

I think the retooling costs might be offset with a Selects Diaclone homage with the a yellow Trailbreaker and a red Hoist.

As an aside: are Diaclone homages ALWAYS Autobots? Why is that?
