and that is exactly why they didn’t and will never release hungurr separate
And that’s why I made my own...
but in all honesty I liked both. Even though there were things I also didn’t.
Hopefully the new Abominus set will have the same joint improvements that GS Volcanicus has. If not, that would be really disappointing. GS Volcanicus actually works now and is shockingly stable.
Oh okay so they actually did retool Hun-Gurr's chest to get the new shield design for Abominus.
These are basically UW versions of the PotP Combiners that Takara wasn't able to do because of the brand unification.
And those were all or nothing. No split figures.
I guess there is little chance of Hasbro releasing UW computron in selects now that Hasbro and TT are "unified"?
Abominus needs his slow dance partner lol.
I don't think unification is what's stopping them.
Isn’t Hasbro releasing them in the states for 190 bucks?
The photo gallery I linked to said they were the same as they were on PotP Abominus. So no improvement, but in my experience PotP Abominus wasn't too bad.
GS Volcanicus has the best joints out of all the combiner's in my opinion (and I have all of Hasbro's, TakaraTomy's, and Fun Pub's).
I know I seen this before & Know people Fans would complain about Abominus not having his dragon head knee caps. But Not everyone likes them. & Has it ever occured to people technology was different back then? now they find a different place to put them Just seen it so many times.I think He looks a lot better with out the. Predaking & Phiranacon did not have them. I did hear about when they designed predaking about the lion Head. They got sued from another company from another toy that had that. So yeah takara got into trouble for that. All though I do wish they could retool Abominus again & Give us Monstructor in someway. Even with out the shells would work. Abominus just looks so much better. & I have noticed Back in the days Hungrr G1 had a good amount of articulation for his time.I think Sludge & soundwave too.
Not that I'd heard.
Hopefully , that pans out.
$160 would be a sweet spot since thats a titan price.
Oi, that stinks. Not sure if Terrorbreaster is enough to make up for that...
Some more comparisons.
Rippersnapper's joint has been improved.
As usual, G1 decos make the figures look blander but the remoulding is appreciated.
I have all the other Unite Warriors and Generations Selects releases so I might as well get this. Computron needs his rival.
So this is the first time I heard of this, when is it being released? Also, where would I find it?
Well, I've taken a good look at the galleries and I just can't find a reason to replace my Hasbro version.
I get the push for animation accuracy (especially in the colors department) but I like how Hasbro's breaks up the monotony and has more paint apps on different parts and different details. I'm sure the TT version has a ton of paint apps, but some of them just make the toys blander and they don't pop as much.
The plastic colors being different, especially on Cutthroat and Sinnertwin, really work for the Hasbro versions where they don't really do much on the Takara-Tomy set. (If it floats your boat, great!)
The only things I would transplant from the Takara-Tomy version would be Hun-Grr's forearms (I like the paint apps), his robot mode head, and the hands/feet for the combined mode. Everything else they can keep. I don't even like the repaint of the Piranicon rifle. (I guess it helps that I have the TDW version, otherwise I might feel a draw to the weapon.)
I think you get a lot more out of the Volcanicus set than you do this one. I wasn't expecting massive changes, but Volcanicus feels like an actual upgrade while these feel like a repaint with extra gadgets thrown in.
I hope anyone who gets this set enjoys it, just not my cup of tea, personally.
Asia now. Pulse says delayed till July 6th.
Looking at these makes me look forward to having both Abomini in person. Admittedly the limb bots still don't look that different but that Hun Gurrr alone changes everything. Makes me wish I had Hasbro Compy to have two sets of rivals; maybe someday. I am a little surprised that the heights are as close as they are. For some reason I thought the shoes would make Newbominus tower more over Compy.
Looks the same except with slippers and boxing gloves.
So is this version supposed to be toon accurate and the other one toy accurate?
