For whatever reason, this deco is ticking my toy-accuracy sensors more than the Hasbro release did, and it's actually kind of tempting on that front. I think it's the white thighs and the shape of the chest plate.

 

They've NEVER not had charge of their own lines - they went with the unified line to save money on deco and packaging.

And, NOTHING has changed - they're doing their ''own thing'' with their exclusives, just as they've always maintained they would once they moved to the unified offerings.

 

Unfortunately, as someone who used to love the variety Takara offered it was obviously a decision they made to save money rather than forced on them by Hasbro.

You can tell because the vast majority of their Masterpiece G1 toys since have been a new Megatron, new Bumblebee, new Optimus Prime & now a new Starscream, the core characters. If you’re struggling financially the first thing you do is fall back on the proven sellers, the classics & the heavy hitters rather than innovating.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see a new Soundwave next, rather than Blaster or another new G1 character people want. And to keep this somewhat on topic, I’ve reluctantly ordered this as I already have two PotP Abominus (one displayed in combined mode & another in their individual modes) but feel Hun-Grr is the one worth upgrading for, & will probably sell the 4 other individual Terrorcons (or their PotP equivalents)

But I also couldn't read it as "Terrortrons" in the translation, either, I had to read it as "Terrorcons" in my head.
