Limited to 1000 units? That's gotta be a convention exclusive, right?

He does mention it being one of those frustratingly simple repaints so I would go with G1 as well. We'll get it with any luck, I would love an "updated" Scorponok. Especially for cheap.

The new post about it being limited to 1000 units makes it seem very likely that it could easily be a Botcon exclusive. That's usually around what they do their extra convention sets in isn't it... well, I think it's usually a little higher than 1000, but not by much.

 

That's cool. I missed out on this guy the first time around. Even if it's not g1 colors, it's a great mold

I remember something about a Shockblast repaint or something like that. Mabe if this guy will be repainted for Generations or Prime, then maybe the same for Shockblast.

And to be honest, he's pretty fugly.

 

Even though it'd be pretty damn sweet, I'm not holding my breath for a G1-coloured Scorponok. This Airachnid repaint will probably be some bizarrely-coloured, retina-burning monstrosity... *shakes head*

 

Anybody know if Dark Scorponok or the SL "Mega Zarak" suffer from GPS in any way? I used to have MZ, and was always terrified of moving his shoulders or pulling his arms down for "jet" mode. Got DS, and he seems okay, though one arm seems to lack the clicking joint ratcheting (?) system even though I can see the piece inside is still there.

And I'm hoping this is some manner of Slavish G1 repaint either as a store exclusive or a BotCon (Maybe he's paired up with "Gnaw",eh?) exclusive.

edit: Now that I think about it, Scorponok and Gnaw make perfect sense as con exclusives, acting as transitional characters between "The Rebirth" and "G2: Redeux". It'd expalin why that Sharkticon repaint has a regular old 'con symbol and not the G2 version. Zarak grabbed a Sharkticon and upgraded it,anyone?

They don't use that swirly kind of GPS prone plastic. SL Mega Zarak uses more of a yellow plastic with goldish paint on it too.

If it could be done in G1 Style similar to the custom Energon Scorponok that went on ebay, and it is not a going to a convention exclusive ( that so many of us cannot attend) it will be bought on sight.

And if this is the case can anyone think of a new-ish mold that could be repainted into Ft. Max?
