Yeah... considering they've stopped painting wheel rims ages ago, I was very surprised to see his hands were painted! And they're not even separate pieces!

I see what you mean to a degree, but Cyberverse Commanders represent the "bigger figures" in a "small scale", while these typically represent the "smaller figures" in a "bigger scale".

One impulse buy later and Beachcomber is here sitting on my desk.

Decent! I still think he's too much torso and not enough legs, but at least you can suss out whether or not that's a deal-breaker for you before buying him. Plastic quality, build, articulation (apart from the lack of a waist) are all good. He has more paint on him than we've come to expect from this size class. Transformation is simple, but still has a few unique twists. Everything pegs together correctly on mine, which is more than I could say for Windcharger.

Buggy Mode is ok, but the lack of a molded seat makes him seem a bit incomplete unless you stick a TR figure in him.

Not a bad purchase at all.

While the complexity may have caught up(?), Scouts were usually a good head taller then the current Legends ~ which bums me out, only in that i felt Scouts scaled a little better with Deluxes as looking like smaller characters (especially when they had 'Smaller alt modes' like Motorbikes). Legends feel pretty shrimpy next to Deluxes.

Beachcomber is pretty great, and it’s always good to add one more minibot to the collection. Now I need proper G1 minibots of Cosmos and Warpath and dedicated molds for Cliffjumper, Huffer, Pipes & Gears.

This figure turned out to be a fun purchase. Love the range of motion for the knees. Head sculpt is full of personality. Glad Hasbro is getting around to nearly completing the cast of G1 minibots

In case anyone was wondering, the Peppa Pig house has just enough room for a dozen minibots.

    I love my daughter. :lol

Robot Mode: I seem to write that a lot lately, but that doesn’t make it any less true. This figure looks like it stepped right off the TV screen. It’s Beachcomber, pretty much exactly like he appeared in the original cartoon.

Apart from the superb likeness, Beachcomber is also an excellent Legends-class figure. Nicely detailed, very good articulation, no flaws. If you really, desperately want to find something to fault in this figure, the only thing I can think of is the lower legs, which are hollow and have strange-looking heel spurs. Apart from that, though, nothing to complain about at all. For all intents and purposes, this is THE Beachcomber robot, period.

Alternate Mode: Beachcomber transforms into the familiar beach buggy we know from the TV screen. The vehicle folds together very nicely and has an open seat which can fit a Titan Master or Prime Master. And while Beachcomber doesn’t carry a gun, there is the option of plugging one into the back of the car mode, if you want him armed. So bottom line, a good adaption of the classic Beachcomber vehicle mode. No complaints at all.

Remarks: Beachcomber was among the many Autobots who simply appeared out of nowhere in the second season of the original G1 cartoon. He was among those who managed to get a sort-of spotlight episode, though, taking center stage in “The Golden Lagoon”, a powerful episode about the cost of war. With his peace-loving ways and affinity to nature, he remains one of my favorite characters and, far more importantly, he is my wife’s absolute favorite Transformers character (to the point where Beachcomber has moved from my display case to her desk).

So bottom line for this figure: the best Beachcomber we’ve had yet, pretty much exactly like he was in the cartoon. No room for complaint unless you really don’t like the character at all.

Picked him up on a whim as he was on slight discount at Walmart.

Beyond happy, he's quite simple but transforming him for the first time felt like replicating a G1 cartoon style 'stretch and squash' transformation. He just kneels and slides the torso up and he's done. But the detail in both modes is great - wish the headlights were painted though - and the articulation is everything I could want for a toy this size.

Also, his Prime card was Vector, so as described, he "travels through time to prevent extinction level events." So...he somehow prevented the meteor from killing the dinosaurs. Never knew the little guy had it in him.:lol

This mistake from the cartoon should be Shattered Glass Beachcomber. I only just found it today.
