Which toy do you think is better? Which one is closer to the IDW design? Does Brainstorm make more sense in deluxe or voyager scale?

The voyager Generations one looks better but I have the deluxe one on my shelf right now just for the sake of consistency with the gimmick.

Voyager Brainstorm is closer to the IDW Design and Deluxe Brainstorm is more G1 accurate and scales better with his other Headmaster partners... My verdict?

I have A LOT of issues with the voyager, I don't like its leg articulation, I have no connection to IDW, AND the headmaster gimmick on mine is utter shit.

But the deluxe? Oh buddy I love this figure, one of the best in years. Better headmaster gimmick, really G1 accurate if you go with the Walgreens version, fun transformation. Oh there is so much to love with this figure. The only gripe, THE ONLY GRIPE, I have is that he does not come with two guns to duel wield but even then I like the weapons he comes with.

So the deluxe wins for me.

I have and love both. The Voyager one is more IDW faithful, and the TR is a nice neo G1 figure. He really doesn't make much sense in Voyager scale if you're displaying him with other TR figures, but I still highly recommend getting both, they are great! My Voyager brainstorm has been hanging out with my MPs since I got the TR version.

The Deluxe is better all around, although the Voyager looks closer to IDW. Too bad it's oversized.

Voyager. Better look, better proportions, better alt mode. Transforming into a jet or spaceship as he does he really should be taller than anything that turns into a car. Unfortunately the scale of the headmaster does let him down. It's a shame that the old mega class could not be revived here, as that would be perfect for Brainy.

I like both. I see the Voyager as the IDW version, and the TR/Legends Deluxe as the G1 character.

Why? He never was before. Why does a Cybertronian jet/spaceship really need to be bigger than a car?

Because jets and spaceships are bigger vehicles than cars. 'Cybertronian' is a design choice (and a useful one since designers have more freedom than with realistic earth modes) rather than dictating function.

Says who? These aren't Earth vehicles, and Brainstorm isn't meant to transport other Cybertronians, only fly around himself. How can you say that technology literally millions of years ahead of ours needs to be housed in a larger body for Brainstorm to propel himself through the air or space with one human sized passenger? I find your lack of imagination...disturbing.

I like them both for what they are. Voyager looks great with MTMTE characters, Deluxe looks great with his fellow TR Headmasters. Though if I had to pick one that was more fun to mess with, I'd have to say Deluxe.

Thanks for all the posts, everyone. Right now I'm leaning towards trying to pick up a loose TR SDCC Brainstorm. Seems to be the best of both worlds plus Blurr's mold is great.

I love the look of the voyager figure but wish it was deluxe sized instead.

get the deluxe! i sold my voyager off because, knowing my luck, the paint would scrape off the head like the numerous reports when transforming.

also, i like being able to detach the nosecone to make it a weapon!

I like my voyager one myself and haven't found a need for the deluxe one. If you're arguing scale, well, Cerebros is taller than the other headmasters already. Does it hurt to have another tall guy? Plus he's a unique mold, whereas TR Brainstorm's a remold of Blurr and shares parts/leg transformation with Chromedome.

I have both and they are both nice. If I had to pick one, it would be the voyager. It has a unique mold and there is no parts forming backpack, and he has two symmetrical guns. My paint never scratched on the head.

Why should a gallon of water need to have more mass than a pint of water?

    Exactly!
