Lovin that shot bro.I am gettin my SDCC next week.I have the hasbro one now but i am hesitant on applying the stickers.
^ I'm really not a fan of all that chrome, but given the above example, I kinda wish now that Hasbro did Metroplex's thigh units (pieces above the swivel) the same dark grey as his elbows... And gave us that extra gun in the first place as a part of the base package. The SDCC version coul've been better as Metrotitan. jya na!
are you going to apply any of the stickers?.Main reason why I dont want to apply them is because I am thinking on doing some paint details. But I am novice come to painting and I dont want to mess up on this sexy beast
I'm not going to apply any stickers until I See what reprolabels can do for him. Off the top of my head, I'd love red inserts for his feet.
Thank you I had to set up this way to shoot him: I might apply a few, but to be honest, I kinda like him just the way he is now.
Picked up my SDCC Metroplex at the convention itself. I guess we're throwing SDCC pics in here (?) rather than a separate thread, so here you go: It's actually a big fucking sleeve over a big fucking box; the Phil Jimenez artwork is a giant sleeve you slide off of the actual box.. I don't know about yours, Hyperoptic, but the two SDCC stickers on the front and top of the sleeve are already peeling at the edges, so I'm not thrilled about that. Clear bubble, box basically splits apart, held together by velcro in the middle. The bubble Metroplex is in is actually not connected to the bottom of the box; the recyclable ties around his feet are what keep Metroplex attached to the inner box. Instructions and stickers are slid into the back. The decoy figures are hidden in two sealed baggies within one of the sides of the box. Unstickered: And stickered, in each mode. I'm not very impressed by the "metallic" sticker sheet because so many of the stickers are black with detail or against a black surface, so much of the detail of the stickers (like the ones for city mode) end up lost. Also of note, I haven't opened mine up to confirm but it doesn't look like mine comes with batteries, so I haven't had a chance to try out the electronic eyes or sound gimmicks. To close out, here's a shot with my Encore Fort Max. I'm glad I got it, but the main appeal of the SDCC release, for me, is the extra chrome on the legs and the mini-figures. If I hadn't been able to actually attend SDCC myself and land one while there (that was fun), I would've just held out for either the HK or Takara releases instead. How much paint aps the SDCC release includes will determine which Metroplex is the "superior" version of the four releases it will see, for me.
I have Fortress Maximus, and he is damn impressive, for sure. But standing next to Metroplex in that picture makes him look like 'Plex's ******ed cousin.
Well im not being nitpicking but I wish they didn't put the manual there, if I remember some members here got their SDCC metroplex with incomplete wheels. so there's no way to check except opening the whole thing?
