Guys, I'm sorry for putting this here, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out where it should live…
    MODs, PLEASE move if needed!

I've been looking to get a used Gen Metroplex for some time now, as I completely missed out on his release. Looking at ebay (holy crap, the prices!?!), I've noticed A LOT of them are incomplete…
SPECIFICALLY, missing his head (oddly the face is intact), and his hands.
(plus various odds and ends, but almost ALWAYS the head and hands).

    My question is, WHY???

Are those item Holy Grail pieces for CUSTOM jobs or something?

Anyway, if someone does plan on getting rid of a used one, in decent condition, box-be-damed, feel free to DM me.

Thanks again for any answers, and sorry again if this is located in the wrong place!

    YouTube (Legacy):
Those parts fall off easily. That's all there is to it. You can buy kits that replace both.

He also had a much smaller production run than the current Titans get I believe.

Prices are because he was a Con exclusive with a limited run. I heard he has a head problem and that is why there are a bunch of replacement head upgrade kits.

Only one release was a convention exclusive. There was that one, the standard retail one and the Takara version.

Does anyone have suggestions for replacement heads/helmets that are still available? The only one I could find was the Unique Toys upgrade kit, but that seems to be long sold out. I'm not too familiar with casters and the third-party stuff in general.

I haven't replaced the head or hands on T30 Metroplex because I haven't had much of a problem with either, but it's not for sale.

The only third party stuff that I bought for him was the Iron Factory Turrets and Manacle kit to give him a Slammer and Sixgun. That was well before Siege Sixgun came out.

I looked at Ebay and all of the copies of Titan Metroplex that I found were absurdly expensive, even if they were incomplete. I feel your pain, OP. It might be better to look a month or two after the holidays.

Would like to see him re-released or even redone. After Scorponok in 2020, no new character really demands the size for the Titan class slot. Only combiner left that deserves that size is Raiden.

A big reason I want Metroplex is to have Scamper. He was my favorite minibot.

Raider is getting a Masterpiece release apparently in the same scale.

I think there ARE other Titans you could do with some creative liberty.

Teletraan as a triple changer who becomes an Ark, a playset with computer console, and an original robot mode.

God Ginrai. In something approximating media scale (even just western media scale), Powermaster Prime should be a Commander. Throw in Godbomber. Make the Battle Station mode a proper mode that has the parts necessary to conceal it.

Victory Saber is another one with a Commander, another robot, and a bunch of accessories.

There are likewise some worthwhile JG1 villains. Violen Jiger. Dark Nova.

I can also see Dinobot multipacks taking up a couple of Titan slots in theory.

The Axalon and the Darksyde. The Axalon has even been given a (not to scale) robot mode before.

Tornedron could be almost anywhere on scale because he grows. (I’d be THRILLED with a Leader or Commander personally.)

But I DO think we’re closer to a new Metroplex than we are to most of those.

The prices on ebay are total bullshit & collectors have more money than brains. Stop pissin around & just say it!

Pallets of these things showed up at Costco for $60 a pop. Nobody wanted it at the time. That's the way it always is. When it's at retail nobody wants to pay the retail price. As soon as they're not in stores anymore everybody is willing to pay 4x more. There is no need for this to be going as high as it is. It had enough different releases to make it NOT RARE! Collectors are a bunch of dumbasses! That's all there is to it!

The same exact thing happened with Beast Wars Cybershark. I kept putting him off because nobody ever bought him. He was the ultimate peg warmer. Then one day every single one disappeared & it started going up over $125 on ebay.

This. The below one is a very dated design even by the standards of the time he wad released IMO.
