It's really an ultra but they like calling it a leader better....

Had a chance to open up and fiddle with Jetfire for a bit today. I really like him. He's got mlre heft than I was expecting and the hollow bits aren't that bad in person. I like the mask a lot more than I thought I would.

The gap in size between leader and voyager was ott anyway. This works better.

Currently testing Chrome removal in anticipation of getting Jetfire. Process appears to be pretty easy and is leaving the plastic underneath clean and glossy. Testing with the reissue Seacons set. After 2 hours, just about entirely free of chrome. Plastic feels smooth and strong.

Here's a question regarding this figure. Is it red plastic underneath the chrome on all counts?

Noisemaze, how long did you scrub for each time before letting it sit?

Great review TCracker and thanks for all the nice pics. So I'm staring at the pics and it seems his forearms/hands are one piece, because I don't see any screws or separation splits. Can someone confirm please? Either way I'm definitely picking this guy up.

The forearms and hands are one piece, so no wrist swivel.

Thanks. I was hoping there was a way to make a swivel. Guess will have to see when he arrives.

Zero scrubbing. All I did was let it soak.

Also, plastic on Jetfiire is confirmed to be molded in Red.

Wow. Now it's easier to just go with the US release. Nice

Thanks. I could not get my hands on powerful stuff like Super Clean, so de-chroming the 4 guns took 3 days of soaking in oven cleaner and mild scrubbing with an old toothbrush. I won't de-chrome the rocket pack as the chrome on it seems to be appropriate.

Wow, after seeing those de-chromed.... I like the chrome even more. They just look terribly bland and cheap. ymmv
