You think there will be a black Nemesis repaint? Like the classics Nemesis Jetfire? I'd love to have both of them on display either fighting in robot mode or chasing each other in jet mode. ^_^

I don't even plan on using the chrome parts- I think they make him look a tad silly- and even if I do keep them, they're totally soaking in Super Clean- that chrome paint is definitely coming off.

 

Was thinking the same thing. Strip the chrome and give those parts a paint job.

 

Also don't know if it has been 'discovered' but he can hold his battle mask in his hand to look extra badass.

 

I feel like the chrome is nice on the backpack but isn't as great on the his guns or leg parts. And I think it's less that they're chrome and more that they're red that's bugging me. If they made it a dark grey chrome it'd work much better. That said I'm feeling the opposite of a lot of you; I was not feeling this guy when he was first shown but after Botcon and seeing these pics I'm actually liking him a bit more. Takara's lacks the chrome and looks a bit better which makes me wish they'd just go with black guns and chrome backpack cuz as is I'm almost torn between the two releases. Sucks that you can't point the back guns forward though; Classics backpack was way more functional.

It looks like the Takara version is worth the extra money.

 

Hopefully Takara will be using better plastics as well.

this thing is absolutely pathetic.. hollow legs, hollow thighs, hollow forearms, hollow biceps, a hollow collar, no wrist swivels, no ankle tilts and there's an entire fuselage hanging off its back.. this is a $45 leader class figure?!! that's outrageous. seriously.

hasbro is just throwing quality and standards right down the toilet.. all of the cost cutting measures they've taken with the AOE line is most definitely seeping into generations and it sucks.

look at the very first photos we saw of this figure, there are quite a few paint apps that are missing which made the thing look much better. seriously, they REALLY need to cost cut THAT much that they couldn't leave those few paint apps on the final figure? that's insanely greedy.

like i said, there are tons of hollow sections, a lack of modern leader class articulation, stripped paint apps, unnecessary kibble, and there aren't any lights and sounds.. so.. with that being said, why is the price rising?.. the lack of electronics should really lower prices, and everything else i've listed should lower the price even further, but no.. the prices just continue to rise.. i understand that things get more expensive and cost more. but they shouldn't cut SO MUCH stuff and STILL raise the price. that's ridiculous.

looks like i'll have to wait and see if takara ever gets around to a masterpiece jetfire.. i'm sick of these G1 toy references. why can't i just have an official G1 toon jetfire?.. is it seriously that difficult? i mean, there aren't any licensing hoops to jump through.. oh well. i guess this trend is just going to continue. i feel like some point down the road i'll only be collecting masterpiece figures and beast era generations figures.

the last non masterpiece transformer that i bought that i was exceptionally pleased with was probably rhinox. i am excited about brainstorm and rattrap.. but that's about it. i mean, they gave sky byte inward bending elbows.. ugh.. it's just so frustrating. at least i have MP magnus, bumblebee, and wheeljack to look forward. i seriously can't wait for those.

this figure has a lot going for it but then i get deterred once i start really looking at the fig...i seriously hope a 3p makes upgrades to take this figure from a potential to contender...
