I guess you can, but there's no way he can sit properly now.

Thank you so much! When I get mine I might just mount the main gun under the arms and the arm armor guns under the wings

Ahhh, I managed to open up his chest window to get a Reprolabel in there!

    To pop it open...

-Take out the two screws in the back of his chest plate.
-Wiggle the back chest plate out enough to remove the head/neck.
-Use a small screwdriver to push on the single blue window tab from above, its very small and just visible sandwitched between the red back plate and the white chest piece. You have to go through the neck hole to get the right angle.
-Once clear, stick your sticker and clip/screw it all together again.

    Simples!

That's awesome! I'm slightly amazed that it doesn't come standard that way.

Alright, with the main gun the way it is now, is it possible to attach the arm armors(connected as in the photo) to the side 5mm port of the main gun in fighter while still having enough clearance for the landing gear?

Nope, mines fine, but I have been looking out for that joint since seeing his.

I think this is what you mean?

Bear in mind if you attach the gun to the hands underneath the plane the plane can't rest on it's wheels.

Hows the plastic on this one? is it similar to BH optimus prime? or AOE voyagers which i think is really good plastic quality?

Wow, nice!!! By the way, where are you guys getting your jetfire from?

Anyways, I was thinking of just adding putty to keep the gun center when I eventually find this toy, but your drilling idea seems nicer.

    Few questions:

    1) What material drill bit did you use? Just standard one? Also, you did 1 mm fist, then 5 mm?

    2) Can you remove the gun and show the drill hole you made?

    3) Can you take a pic of Jetfire in jet mode with that center gun and 2 cannons, from the front view, I want to see how nice he looks at standard looking angle.

    Thanks in advance.

I am really liking pics on this figure, very excited about Jetfire.

Well Tikgnat ordered his online via Kapow toys, as for me & Tcracka both of us are from Asia which most of this Jetfire is readily availabe thru the local toyshops & normal retail.

Yes that's exactly what I meant, thanks man! With that configuration, can it rest on it's wheels? Noticed the guns are attached to the forearms and not the hands

No it can't rest on it's wheels. The moment you put the main gun underneath in his hands/forearms he can't rest on his wheels, I think I said that already?

Yup mime was from Kapow, and there was a Chinese sticker on the box, so I assume my Jetfire is Asian stock.

    As to my hole...

As you can see it sits nicely on the jet, clearing the canopy so it can still shoot without hitting himself. Also I can adjust the angle a bit, if I push the post in further it raises the elevation. This was a happy accident because if I did is completely parallel with the Fast pack engines the gun would angle downward along with the engines (as they do in jet mode) and shoot himself in the cock (pit).

To drill the hole I started with a 1.5mm drill bit, and after I made the hole changed to a 2mm drill bit, then 2.5mm, then 3mm, 3.5mm, 4mm, 4.5mm and finally 5mm. I had to move up in so many increments because when I moved higher then that the drill bit wouldn't bite and I was afraid it would ruin the edges.

I sited the hole quite far back because if I did it in the middle it might have interfered with the turning mechanism on the pack (you can rotate the Fast pack around it's connection, ie, you can have it sideways if you want) and I didn't want to go too far forward because there's a little dome detail thing that I didn't want to obliterate. I also took a black pen and coloured in the bottom of the hole, as it looks a little rough. I might take some putty and fill in the bottom to smooth it off, maybe.

Confession time, I have the hole too far back, I should have moved it forward at least 2mm because it's come through and you can see the hole through the vents on the back. It's a very small thing but I can live with it. But use my experience to improve yours!

    Anyway, hope this all helps.

    Edit
Oh and the plastic qualith is good. It's hollow in a lot of places (par for the course I guess) but the quality itself is similar to the plastic on AoE Evasion Optimus.

Thanks for showing where the hole is, much appreciated :D

But I have to respectfully disagree with you as to the quality. It does not feel like Evasion Prime plastic thickness to me. But that is just my opinion.

Picked mine up and managed to get him away from my two-and-a-half year old. Love the sculpt, especially the helmet and chest, but like others feel it comes across as a bit cheap quality-wise. I'm probably a bit spoiled by the third parties by now, but when I picked him up I was underwhelmed.

Was it worth the £50 I shelled out? Probably not, I think £30 is really about its money, but happy to pay the extra if it means I actually get one - never trust Hasbro UK to release anything worthwhile in sufficient quantities!

Just noticed another nice detail - the vents being separate pieces is lovely, really makes a difference from sculpted detailing :)

FYI - be careful with the chrome. Optibotimus' is chipping.
