Anyone try making a Hun-Gurrr from a Blitzwing? I've had the idea for a while now and now that the original mod using the figure broke I decided to give it a try and "mock" him up to see how well it could work. (Better pics in the morning, my camera doesn't like darkness so much.) The legs need to be rebuilt, I'm thinking of them as a mixture of G1 Hun-Grrr and the recent Cyberverse legs (more robot then dragon beast like) and I would need to rebuild the feet into dragon heads. The back legs/robot arms come from a broken FOC Grimlock and currently his center of gravity is more towards the legs so I need to build a tall section (and remove that cockpit) to balance it out. I might need to pick up a junker G1 Hun-Grrrr for parts and I need to build some forward legs that will fold up into the side cavities. Hopefully I can build in a combine mode too.
And the cockpit joint snapped! No problem, just need to take him apart and build a new one which I would probably have to do anyways if I want to use his chest to hold Abominus's head!
Also, RID Megatron would be a good source for donor legs. They turn into Dragon heads already, so they're a good start.
So, you ever get an idea for something right as you are about to fall asleep and then no longer can? Well, I figured out what I can do for his forward arms. I've got a Dark Of the Moon delixe Starscream I used for Ramjet custom, one of my first and kind of sloppy paint job (I was just learning). Got the idea and had to try it out! Bot mode: Claws rest on his shoulders, gives him a nice filled out look to me. Beast mode: (Blurry first pic but serviceable) The arms hold his weight! I need to cut into them though so that the hands can lay flat on the ground. They are secured using the screws that hold the figure together, perfect fit and great placement but I did have to sand down his hips some and the top shoulder area of the arms just to make sure they both cleared each other. Again, HOLDS HIS WEIGHT! Now I need to get some styrene and build his chest and tall. I'm thinking of using the original mount point for the nose cone to connect the tail and to use ball joints in it so it's poseable. Working on combine mode too, not exactly sure how I'm going to handle that, I've never made a combiner before! lol
When I first read it I thought... Hun-grrr from Blitzwing?!?! But when I saw your pics... right on!! What a great eye you have!!
