Was looking around Toy Kingdom at Fountain Gate, as I often do after work on a Saturday, and I found this guy: FOC Shockwave. Also on the pegs with him, were his wave mates: FOC Optimus Prime- FOC Jazz- Toy Kingdom is selling them for $30: So, if you're in Australia, check your Toy Kingdoms, because you might be able to find these guys.
Also been spotted across New Zealand in Warehouse stores. Price has been bumped up to $32.99 per figure for them though, which sucks.
Yep. And sometimes it can get the better of me and appears as a mighty big chip on my shoulder. It would be nice walk into a store and buy something but I honestly cannot remember the last figure i bought at retail. It is sad because I would buy more TF lines and do a few impulse purchases if prices were cheaper.
To all those who see Australians prices and :O you need to realise they get paid more there. You can't just look at the price and think it is relative to American prices. Anyway congrats Aussies, Canada is still on wave one of PRID. We still have a ton of the FE BB's for anyone interested lol
Why not? it still seems relative to me. The whole 'minimum/ average wage' argument keeps getting thrown around this board as if it explains something, or implies that Australia has some kind of rampant inflation problem. Hasbro isn't concerned about fairly distributing transformers equally between countries with a Robin Hood style sense of justice, (If they did, they'll be selling them for one Euro in Greece). If there is a valid reason for the price difference, it would most likely be related to 'economies of scale' with the smaller Australian market. I own a small business that's been suffering from the GEC, and I know I haven't been earning the minimum wage of either country.
Sweet. Funny Enough Canada has gotten FOC toys released just in time for the game's release. New Transformers Figures Released at Canadian Retail - Cybertron.CA - Canadian Transformers News and Discussion
I wonder if this argument also applies to transfans living in Eastern Europe who also pay double US prices and still get paid much much less.
How much we earn has nothing to do with it. It's pure a case of large companies milking us for every cent they can. And it's more than just toys. You should see how much we pay for cars!
