How do you feel about the MMC Azalea or Igear Delicate Warrior? They might be nice alternative (I am getting the MMC one too). A MP would be nice though.... but who knows if that will happen.
wow, im actually making a hasbro purchase. gonna get this. ...to take the head and put it on MMC azalea for a more G1 look. getting another azalea for IDW. next to the MP cars, bovis, etc.., i feel like i can use azalea as mp. i think a few minor details with a gundam marker would help azalea get over that hump.
To be honest, a big portion of her alt mode was on her back in the G1 animation model so this looks very good to me. Much like Unicron, we've been waiting a long time to get this one
It may be somewhat more involved....The pinks may not match, even if you can somehow fit the head and it happens to be the "right" size (Azalea is a bigger figure than Hasbro's). Good luck in any case, will like to see your work on it, or if you get a custom one done in black for it....
i love when someone gets a hands on review early they put the stock photos to shame. now i'm really into this figure. i never realized she was that articulated either so that was a nice surprise. my ONLY complaint is that the front end doesn't collapse even a little bit it just folds back. i think they could have done something along the lines of the animated arcee to give her the back portion but not make it so overwhelming. all in all like it's been said we've waited 30 years for this and i think it was worth the wait aside from my one gripe.
for those who want to PO from BBTS again: Arcee Generations 2014 Series 05 - Arcee - Transformers 2010 - 2014 Transformers Generations - Deluxe Arcee and Chromia Generations 2014 Series 05 - Set of 2 - Arcee & Chromia - Transformers 2010 - 2014 Transformers Generations - Deluxe I am waiting for it to be available at Target or Walmart locally.
To be fair, SW Black is almost twice the price of Hasbro's latest main line, Saga Legends. These cheaper figures sport five points of articulation, and the paint jobs are either so nice I can't stand it or absolute garbage. Black series figures are the same toys we would have gotten two to five years ago, only with way less accessories and the worst, smallest, most bare bones packaging I've ever seen in a Star Wars toy. With Transformers, it seems that Hasbro is maintaining the same pricepoint while attempting to satisfy both the kids' market and We the Collectors. I wish wish wish they could still give us toys of the same caliber as Universe 2.0 or RTS, but the fact is they'd have to sell them for $20 or more for a Deluxe. I don't think they feel they could compete with other kids' lines at that pricepoint, and that's why we're getting lower parts counts, fewer paint apps, smaller toys and cheaper plastic. Maybe they would come out with a true collector line that wasn't Masterpiece if they felt there were enough of us to float it.
That looks pretty good! I like delicate warrior better but this looks like a solid effort that I think is worth a purchase.
Hey you wanted a G1 Arcee, THIS is a G1 Arcee! Theres very few ways you can get that look without compromising on transformation! So having those arms and legs and .. tummy? means you have to have that backpack! Yes the kibble could have been tweaked.. but in the end you're still gonna buy her this way.. tweaked or not! So its not worth their time and $$$ to fix it!
This. I get they like the comic iteration better, but shouldn't we start from the beginning? Plus, there's a 3P IDW Arcee already out there...
Not bad at all. A bit shellformery but that's a given with a G1-inspired Arcee. Really curious to see what Takara does with this mold as I think she could do with a few more paint apps. Compared with Windblade, Arcee looks a tad bare in the paint department.
the loose joints could just be part of the review sample/ ebay'd figure, maybe the joints would be tighter when the actual release happens……..
It's the retail release. Only the hips are loose where they slide outwards for transformation. These arrived today as part of Wave 5:
This does look like a good figure, and while I would have prefered an IDW based version, I am somewhat tempted to get this. It looks good and solid
