I prefer the look of the open hands, myself...
I picked up the Takara Tomy "Legends" version of Arcee this past weekend. The hands on mine are sculpted in the "open" position; they also have those nubs of plastic on the palms which keep her weapons from sliding all the way through.
just got the takara one and Im a little let down, maybe its just the color scheme that I don't like, but the figure's proportions also seem really odd to me, from the thrust out abdomen, incredibly wide hips, and the pulled back neck and shoulders. something seems really strange about her.
I think the hasbro black would visually help with some of my problems (prob would make the hips less wide looking).
I do like the figure, the more I mess with it the more I like it, but the proportions are always gonna bug me I think
Great job hasbro!
FINALLY got Arcee in-hand. I've got the open fists version, and would like know how to did you guys cut off the nubs on the bottom of her hands? I've got an X-acto knife, and seems pretty hard to cut it out from the side without cutting off part of her hand.
I just used a pocket knife and shaved the little nubby bit off. Took about 30 seconds. Just stick the knife through the bottom of her hands.
I shaved at it, rather than cutting it. Just slowly working it away.
yep that's what I did. just slowly shave a thin sliver off at a time till you get it all with a xacto knife. don't get in a hurry, just take you time with it.
I have had her since before Christmas but never really appreciated her until recently.
I wish she has some of her paint budget dedicated to detailing her out and not just solid blocks of color so she did not look as bland in robot mode, but oh well
A lot of the smaller details get lost in the sea of light colors. I will probably be panel lining her with a light grey whenever i get in the mood to paint again.
Great picture, perfect size!
Have you guys figured out that both guns can store in Vehicle mode? I wondered why her arms didn't clip anywhere until I realized the smaller gun plugs into her pelvis and the open arms clip to the side pegs on that gun.
Then of course the bigger gun pegs into the back of the vehicle underside.
yep that's where they were intended to store although they didn't put it in the instructions for some reason.
Those steps are present in the Japanese instructions, but for some reason left out of the English language markets.
o thanks. didn't know that.
I just got the Takara version. I'm not really seeing the "Classics" in this. It's not really an updated design...looks pretty much like what we saw in G1.
Which is great. It's like a Masterpiece light. She will be hanging with my MPs for now.
just got my arcees.. i have one that has the open hands while my other one has a closed right hand and an open left hand.. anyone else seen this?
here's the url to the pic of my figure: generations arcee Pictures, generations arcee Images, generations arcee Photos, generations arcee Videos - Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting
Interesting, first time I've seen that!
Whoa, interesting. Wonder if theyre all getting the same change or just yours?
Wow, it's one of those accidental variants that collectors in the 90's went nuts for. It reminds me of the short Lightsabers in the long tray variants of the Star Wars POTF2 line during the mid 90's. It topped at a couple of hundred dollars. Today's market isn't like that anymore but it's still a legitimate rare item. Lucky you. Once you open it, it's just another toy.
