I really hate that Hasbro didn't make Chromia with a removable canopy/shield. I have had mine for a day and the back kibble was driving me crazy with how pointless it was and that there was such an easy option for Hasbro to take that they didn't. SO I got out the old x-acto saw and now the problem is fixed. I just cut it off cleanly at the end of the arm holding the front end on right behind the head. I am using the left over post for a handle on the shield. Everything still clips together and stays together in bike mode too. It took about 2 minutes, but I still have to do a little sanding.

EDIT: I added a handle cut off of a Deluxe Stealth Bumblebee weapon so I could flip it over to look more like a riot shield.

Interesting, I think it might look more practical if you were to flip it, then the clear canopy could be seen as a riot shield, idk thanks for sharing though

I would have preferred to make it more like a riot shield, but there isn't really a lot that can be done with the wheel staying connected to the canopy. I tried flipping the wheel around to the back and putting the canopy in front, but there wasn't a good way to get her to hold it like that. Same thing if I flip it over and put the wheel on the bottom of the shield. I might do a more invasive mod and add a handle somewhere, but I am alright with what I have for now.

I realized I had the perfect part to make a handle so I could make it more like a riot shield. I am much happier with it now. I didn't take a photo, but her lower back panel can flip upwards to hold the shield on the back just like the original backpack.

What did you use to stick the handle to the shield?

    Glue.
I used the handle from a Deluxe Stealth Bumblebee from the original movie line. I sawed it off and then had to trim it a little so that it would fit on Chromia's alt-mode. The weapon came with several versions of the mold.

Didnt want the wheel hanging off the shield, so my modification was shortening the pin holding the windshield to the back assembly... but just long enough to peg the 'shield back on. Now all I gotta do is figure a clean way to peg the shield on her arm!

I did the same thing. I am using a modified shield attachment part from a Gunpla for the handle.
