I hope this is not a duplicate tutorial. If it is then just lock it out.

So the new Generations Blitzwing. I have been waiting for a remake of this figure for over 25 years. So I was very excited to see it finally come out and very disappointed at Hasbro's lack of Quality control on this figure. I should not have to buy a figure for over $30 now for what used to be $20 only to have to take it apart and "Fix it" to make it the way it should have been out of the box!

Ok with that being said and my rant over lets get to what this thread is about.

The things that just needed to be done to make this now a GREAT figure.

First off you know about the arm fix. If not you can find that here http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/tutorials-how-tos/887284-generations-blitzwing-shoulder-fix.html

It's a very good fix for tightening the arms. While you are doing this and have the figure in pieces there is another fix you can do.

    The Head Spring fix

The head has a spring in it that pops it back up when in bot mode from jet mode. The problem with that part is it puts too much pressure on the rubber cone so the cone does not stay in place. If you are having this problem here is the fix.

While you have This part out because you are fixing the arms.

Undo the screw that holes the 2 pieces together. Then pry the two pieces apart but only at the bottom. you will see the spring in there from that point.

From there just pull the spring out and toss it. Screw it all back together and you are done!

    Leg Fix

This one is easy but needs to be supervised. If the leg on your Blitzwing are super loose in bot mod there is a pin that holds in the rotation on that parts.

You will want to put just enough super glue around the edge of the pin as shown. You will need to rotate it several times to get the glue inside and between the pin and plastic. Let it stand for a minute and then rotate again. keep doing this on each leg until the super glue dries completely. If you forget to do this is will glue itself in one position. If this happens then gently twist the leg a little at a time back and forth until you hear the glue hold snap. The leg at this point will be very tight. Keep rotating it some more to loosen it up again.

Please do this at your own risk. It worked for me and I have done this on other transformers but you need to use caution.

Next is the Rotating Face Fix

Another major issue with this figure and also an awesome adaption to this figure is the three personality faces for the animated series. I love that part!
However the faces are rubber and the head is painted and 2 together just don't mix well.

You will need to pop the head off your figure and take it apart to fix this.

Start with undoing the screw on one side and taking that plate off.

Now if you can rotate the faces a little bit you will need to remove one at a time. Outside, Middle and inside.

First face will be the robot face

Next will be his normal face

And last the electric face. This face you may need something to push it around to the front.

When you have removed all the faces you will now tace the plate off the other side.

This plate you will see lots of paint on and around the peg that holds the faces. You will need to scrape that off.

Next sand off the paint on the other plate with a nail file.

Now look at the main head and scrape off any thing were you see rubbing.

Re assemble and put your head back on.

I hope some of you find this helpful.

If you take the spring out from the head, does it stay up in bot mode? Does anything hold it up? Just friction?

It has a couple tabs in there that click in place when you pull the head up.

Thanks for posting this up! I just removed the head spring and his nosecone finally stays in place. The head stays in place in robot mode since theirs friction tabs that click it in place.

My Blitzwing is finally perfect! Surprised he had so many issues to begin with though...

Floppy Shoulders - shaved down body halves to tighten the clearance.
Loose Hips - 2-3 drops of Future
Cant Rotate Faces - shaved off paint from peg.
Nosecone Wont Stay in Place - removed spring

No problem :)  it was a great starting point.

With all these fixes I'm now happy to have that figure in my collection.

Glad these fixes are working out for the rest of you as well.

The legs on my Blitzwing are extremely loose. They cant even hold him up in Bot-Mode. He just flops over backwards. Gonna have to glue him up I guess.

I just got this guy yesterday and, while I'm not up on every QC issue, I kind of expected some issues with the thing. At first, in tank mode, it seemed like it had no ability to tab or stay tabbed. I messed around with it for ten minutes and everything popped together perfectly.

That spring/head/nose cone design does not seem workable at first. Worked at it a bit and it goes together fine.

My point is, try it first before 'fixing it'.

I'm somewhat lucky that when I got Blitzwing, the only issue that he had was his left shoulder not locking. His right shoulder locks and his head locks when pushed down so I don't have the gap when transforming the nose cone. I'll probably try the sanding technique to fix his left shoulder but other than that, I'm happy with this figure.

I guess im a lucky one, because his head stays in place when down. shoulders lock in place, and his hips haven't ever been loose. the face change is really the only thing that gave me any trouble, but I don't change his face cause I like the g1 face to go with my animated movie character shelf.

I'm glad to see that some people are getting use out of this fiz thread. Of course it would be great if we did not have any QC issues at all.

I'm very happy to have this figure now. thats for sure.

Oh I had to do all this, and the peg mod Snake Eyes did, but it all worked and I don't hate this toy anymore.

Makes me wonder if Generations Perceptor couldn't use a little shaving to get his shoulders to peg into place like this does, I recall mine had some issues staying put.

Anyways, thanks fellas for the work and documentation.
