I’ve been watching BW with my daughter. We just got to “Bad Spark” and now I really want a new Rampage figure. I have the original and it’s nice, but definitely dated compared to modern toys.

Dafuq? You're forgetting, they're aiming for awesome beast modes. That's the #1 reason you're disappointed with everything, I assume. You don't care about the realistic beast mode concept and only want good robot modes. If you could embrace the beast mode part you'd never say stuff like "the og Cheetor is better"

You can hate the new realism feature all you want but please, at least stop ignoring it acknowledge it's the new thing. Just like waist swivels and ankle tilts, accurate beast modes are the way to go forward. Please move on with it

Exchange #1 with "one of the main reasons" and it's no longer an assumption. You like the cool beast modes, but if they dare interfere with the robot mode, a 35 year old toy with an utter shit beast mode is somehow "better"

Personally, I've loved the Kingdom BW stuff and can't wait to get Airazor, T-wrecks, Tigatron and others in hand. These are far and away the best interpretations of these characters we've gotten in my opinion.

sorry to say this but i just want the rest of the show cast first, then when they finish them i am ok with toy guys , been honest i would like armada guys first to toy guys, i love some of them , but i prefer the characters who appear in the show since they have a real background and story behind them

Once you get Tigatron in your hands, you might have a better idea.

Let's use Kingdom Cheetor as an example:

I actually have him displayed in beast-mode on my Generations Maximal shelf. He's displayed like this for two reasons:
    1. It's a great cheetah design. Poseable legs, articulated jaw, textured surfaces. The only thing I would have liked to have seen is some articulation in the tail (but more on that shortly), and
    2. The bot-mode is complete crap
And it's crap, in great part, because of the great beast-mode. They sacrificed too much to make the sleek cheetah design, thus tying one hand behind their back when it came to getting a decent bot-mode. The balance between the two modes is off. Sacrifices should go both ways, but in this instance, it's lopsided, and if anything, the bot-mode should be the mode to be prioritised.

I'd be more than happy to take a slightly bulky cheetah for a better bot-mode, one with an actual weapon associated with the design. Instead, this version comes with an axe (one that could have utilised some articulation so as to straighten the handle), which is ultimately an accessory that is ill-fitting for such a figure. It would be like Kingdom Optimus Primal coming with clubs instead of swords.

The counterpoint comes that at least it's an accessory a Cheetor figure has come with before, which is true, but do you know what that figure can do with said accessory? Stand in bot-mode with it still plugged in. Kingdom Cheetor cannot. Such is the poor design.

There is a lot wrong with this figure, and that's even before it was painted. So yeah, I'd take the 1996 version over this every day of the week. It's fun. It's packing heat. And it's less likely to break.

So what you're telling me is that you would really prefer not to see a repack of him in the next trilogy?

I don't know if my entitlement is showing here, but IMHO there shouldn't be any need for sacrifices for either mode.

Absolutely. It would be a waste of a spot.

In an ideal world, for sure. But designs have their limitations.

There are sacrifices, and then there are straight-up bad design decisions. Sadly, it seems like all of the Kingdom Beast Wars figures look to have one, the other, or both.

So, just for clarification, seeing Cheetor in an Evolution box would be extremely upsetting to you?

Not upsetting. Disappointing. If they wanted a Deluxe Kingdom figure as a repack, I'd have gone with Blackarachnia or Airazor.

This specific, already released Cheetor? Kind of meh... unless it's "the" deco everyone wanted  ... but if you're implying it's Cheetor as some kind of Evolution... people would be happy, methinks.
