Take a look TFMs Menasor. It's already got some really great proportions. Throwing kibble at it would only through the proportions out of whack.

His proportions are ok, but his combined form falls way too short to be considered MP scale. It's a shame, because the individual bots are scaled perfectly for MP. I never suggested adding kibble. I'm suggesting some thigh extensions similar to what TW did with Constructor. I don't think it would throw of Menasor's proportions enough for it to be really noticeable. Right now, with his arms straight down his hands extend to his knees. Giving him the extra 3-4 inches in height he needs to scale well with MPs would also result in arms falling just below the waist, which is about right anyway.

Gravity builder is awesome, maybe lacking in the articulation area but the detail and style is a defo from me. Hope this will be much of the same.

Take a close look at toyworld constructor... His chest is too small, his hips too wide... He needs more extra parts just for his upper torso to "look normal"

Their bruticus looks better though... But onslaught seems to be only 40% of their torso... (most of it are lazy partsforming...) Also the combiner thighs do not appear to be part or form onslaught trailer either...

I really hope that GT defensor do most of the partsforming right! Just like TFM's Havoc, the majority of combiner parts need to store or transform! At least for me! :D

Somehow I missed this announcement, but after receiving my Gravity Builder Constructicons the other day I'm excited to see more of this set.

My big hope is that it has the Scramble City feature though.

I'll just be happy if he scales with WB-01. This is the CHUGsterpiece (along with Superion) that I would like to see.

    Sorry! :(

I hope he is not a sunbow masterpiece, have superb quality/engineering and scale with the recent IDW masterpieces (Havoc)!

But that's not kibble. It's not even attached to him! Kibble is stuff that's stuck to the figure from another mode that messes up the look of the current mode. In fact, making that piece separate is how you get a nice kibble-free Long Haul while still arriving at the correct height for an MP-scaled combined form.

"Combined-mode-only" stuff like fists/feet/head that has nowhere else to go, always been called "combiner kibble" since early uses of the word in the fandom. Even if it's TECHNICALLY not "alt-mode stuff that doesn't hide" etc.

Yeesh, having nowhere to go whatsover in any mode, makes it WORSE than kibble. At least the G1 toy could attach most of the kibble as weapons/wings etc on the vehicles.

And when the kibble is bigger than the base figure---you've gone past "combining figures using some accessories", into "a bunch of giant robot parts, using a few smaller bots to hold them together". (like so many custom gestalts using Unicon parts etc used a few years back--they'd be 70% kibble, with 5 bots stuck on...)

None of that really addresses the point I was making - that TFM's Menasor in combined mode doesn't scale well with MPs. Whether Constructor has proportion issues or not has nothing to do with it.

He can't grow any taller than he already is (without looking weird)... He has to mass shift all his components to achive such height...

Defensor has the same predicament... With MP scaled components, he maybe can grow to the same height as Havoc...

...which is why my original post stated I'd be ok with the addition of partformed thigh extensions, similar to what TW did with constructor.

I love the idea of partsforming when it comes to combiners. Lots of extra pieces to form combined mode doesn't bother me a bit.

Whether it's my Star Wars, Marvel or Transformers stuff, I have plenty of extra stuff that isn't in my main displays that relate to each line- be it combiner parts, extra weapons, stands, extra faces ect.

The more that stuff makes each mode better, the more I like it.

It all started with Primes trailer magically flying off camera and back on again, from nowhere

MP scale is overrated. I'd rather have a dozen Warbotron-sized combiners (current score as of 2-6-17, 7 completed, 3 in progress) than partsforming, weirdly-proportioned, overly-large combiners that scale better with MP-10 according to some stupid mass-shifting chart than with the other combiners I already have.

Contructor has his WHOLE hips, thighs section extented! Well thigh extensions could work... They can perfectly be part of the legs bots or be inside the trailer of Motormaster or part of Hot spot alt mode!

By how much? 30% combiner parts? I am not against partsforming... Just the abuse / "bad use" of it... For me it just take the creative part of the transformation / engineering... Havoc for example is what I think the best use of partsforming in a combiner! MakeToys's Guardia is another example.

The aerialbots would not need any help to achieve 40 cm or more in combined mode by the way! :)

I'd rather have combiners that come as close as possible to the toon scale. Warbotron-sized combiners are just too small, IMO. Especially with a couple versions of Omega Supreme on the horizon. Things like Feral Rex and Gravity Builder would just look out of place next to them. Glad there are companies making combiners that fit both of our needs.

For me, I think it simply comes down to "raw percentage of mass". The combiner better be like 80-90% "made from its component robots". If you can go all the way from the waist to the knees, and not encounter any team members---that's a problem.

More than Fans Toys', which I wasn't planning on getting anyway (I don't know why, but I just never cared for Omega Supreme)? How big does the Holy Sunbow Scale Chart say Omega is supposed to be compared to, say, Devastator? In my head (which trumps any and all scale charts AFAIC) I'd say they should be roughly the same size, yeah? So I guess, if I ever get some weird bug up my butt about needing an Omega Supreme I could just go with Planet X's Genesis if FT's is too big.

This much is true. However, for my own selfish sake I do hope that GT's Defensor is more Warbotron-sized and less Constructor-sized, because I'm not loving TFC's Defensor, and while MT's looks fantastic he's too small. Actually, after I finish Warbotron Computron and TFM's Menasor Defensor would be the only US G1 cartoon combiner that I wouldn't have in that size.
