Looks great... i like the generation toy/warbotron combiners....

but man... since fanstoys hinted at them flirting with mp combiners.... im gonna have to put a stop on combiner purchases

i love my chugsterpiece combiners... but to tempting a slow release of a full combiner line from fanstoys

I hope GT does do a not-Defensor, So far in terms of completed rival pairings, all we've gotten is WB-03 Computron and Unique Toys Ordin for CHUGsterpiece. That still took the effort of two companies.

As someone who could care less about G1 accuracy, I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Hopefully they've learned from Gravity Builder with this one.

But a jeep leg and a space shuttle arm are OK?

Nope, Groove as the right leg or the whole set is a pass.

Those are bad. Groove is worse. I would be happy with putting a Groove head on the Rook body and calling him Goove's upgraded form.

How is Groove worse, scale-wise? A space shuttle is huge, several times larger than a rescue chopper like Blades is.

Regarding biggest member vs smallest member:
Shuttle vs Jeep, compared to rescue chopper (or fire truck) vs patrol bike.

Groove's relative smallness compared to the team's biggest member is nothing compared to Swindle's. Heck, Onslaught could fit inside BlastOff's cargo bay.

After seeing how Gravity Builder turned out, I am very excited for their next combiner effort. Combiners at this scale are A-OK to me. If and when FT and other companies start churning out larger combiners, I will pick those up IF I'm even actively collecting at that point.

Hope this turns out to be their version of the Protectobots, though. Their upgraded/modernization of the team is a welcomed approach so long as they don't do off the wall things like make Hot Spot a stretched Humvee with tank treads or something.

Really hope so. Don't really care which combiner they tackle, I just want them to do 'm all. So, Defensor is fine. Can't wait.

This. I have the first two Warbo combiners and like them a lot (aside from all the partsforming).

But now that someone is going to start doing "true" MP combiners, I'm not touching the Chugsterpieces anymore.

While I'm satisfied with MT Guardia, I'm still interested to see how GT's Defensor come out.

    My Defensor shelf is full...

...looks like I need to find a way to clear out a second shelf. God forbid I sell anything :)

Groove will never be in real life scale because he can't. Always seem a problem that a van (First Aid) became and arm and Groove the leg). Blastoff always appeared as a minishuttle. I can see sculptwise why they chose Swindle and Brawl as legs. Defensor is the one that defied all logic. Blades looks great but I am out on this because it will be scaled to 14 inches in combined mode. I suspect after Bruticus and Superion, Toyworld will do Menasor and Defensor.

It would be interesting if somebody came up with a Groove that was actually like a bike on top of a trailer, but still transformed to look like he should in robot mode.

its really a situation where im going to be very greatfull to have fanstoys advance notices... are they doing just devestator? will we see a superion, bruticus, defensor kind of lineup

if yes, then i have no problem replacing the chugsterpiece combiners i have.. because it will happen very slowly if i just stick with fanstoys combiners

Because the vehicle Groove turns into is basically the size of a human, and it stands out. Yes, a space shuttle and a truck on Bruticus looks BAD. That's possibly why they downsized Blast Off to a mere jet too. Both are steps in the right direction.

I'd love if at least they tried to make the largest vehicle in a team become the torso, the next two largest as legs, and smallest as arms. So for Defensor Blades (the 57 feet long helicopter!) would be the torso, groove and Streetwise the arms, and First Aid and Hot Spot would be the legs.

Guys it's based off a cartoon. Suspension of disbelieve is in order here. If you want some plausibility, maybe it's a smaller space shuttle? Anyway, that's how it's done in the cartoon and that is what the model is based off of. If you truly want proper scale combiner limbs, my suggestion is make your very own quasimoto :)

That is going to be one big combiner. Looks nice but I am keeping tfc version. I don't think the companies realize that we have limited funds!
