To be honest, with one named GT and the other GC I only found out a few days ago that they weren't the same figure.

It's not final yet, and GC has publicly announced they are doing a new head sculpt.

I know, but this nails more of the aesthetics that I prefer, so I doubt a new head sculpt on GC will persuade me. Also 170 bucks US was a lot of money for something I was good with because I thought it was the only one so it'd have to do.

Don't get me wrong both are good, but if I had to pick one, it'd be GT. If GT didn't exist I'd have gone with GC, and probably painted the ribs silver to better fill what I want aesthetically.

Unless one ends up a real stinker in terms of QC, I doubt there will ever be a strong consensus as to which is better. Both look good, and it will come down to individual aesthetic preferences.

I'm interested to see what the price ends up. I have a hard time seeing it ending up much different than the GC figure.

Does anyone know the official size of this guy? MP scale? Wondering if he'll fit with my MMC's Reformatted guys.

He's a smidge taller than MP10. GCreation's IDW Prime is even bigger. I think SND's Primo Vitalis is smaller (still quite big), but the transformation sucks. It's really easy to scrape one of the painted parts.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll wait for further images until I decide. Spoiled with options.

It's too bad one of the two isn't voyager scale. Although I'm not sure If he willing to give up on Striker Manus even for an awesome IDW Optimus.

I still like the look of this one over the other one.

Dang. After the reviews from the GC came out, I was putting all my eggs in GT's basket, but now I'm torn again. The angular look in the torso doesn't quite do it for me, feels a bit too cartoony. Also, still wish a company would do this with the silver ribs. I liked both of these a lot more back when they were grey.

I mean, it still is grey. The above is just my guess at the color.

The silver ribs are a tricky one. I know some issues of the comic have them. But those ribs, be they a faux cheat part or not, are supposed to be the front corners of the truck. And that part of the truck is red.

Yes, the robot looks better with silver on those ribs...and yes the comic sometimes does it... but it doesn't make any transformation sense.

Overall I'm liking this sculpt more than the GC one, especially the legs. The legs on GC prime is just too slim.

Once again, I'm glad I don't read the comics and expect these guys to look a certain way, and am free to choose what I like without feeling if it's accurate enough or not.
