A couple thoughts looking at these picture. A self tapping screw for plastics is needed, hopefully that is what they used or supplied. the old broken piece...you see how the hole made with the screw isn't centered in the part while in the new part the hole meant for the screw is clearly centered? It means it was forced...HARD. The design here could have been better. The edge of the hole, they should have chamfered it so that the screw will "self center" which should lead to a minimal amount of material displaced/deformed/cut whatever....and thus more sturdy.

How difficult was the reinstall for you? I tried to take the leg apart and gave up when the screw in the broken piece started stripping. Cannot figure out how to get the rest of the leg apart.

    @Autobrat Leader & @Acayas
Is there a screw or anything at the top of the leg that I need to remove to get the side panel off? I can't see any screws on the leg at all except the one on the rotating leg panel side.

Edit: I just found the screws on the inside of the leg and they are already starting to friggin strip.
Does anyone know what kind of screws i can get a a replacement?

I didn't get far and bailed. I took that screw off and there's a spring behind it. Panel pops off and then I didn't know what to do next. Didn't have enough time to figure it out and breaking something wasn't worth it yet.

I can't get the leg apart because the screws are stripping like they are made of old cheese.

I think GT should be sending out entire calf sections. This is a very unpleasant experience.

Yeah mine too. Didn't strip, but was about one bad crank away from turning into silver butter.

Ok, I was able to get the side panel off. I'll post a picture of what was necessary. Not a pleasant experience, but the good news is that you do NOT need to take the knees apart. (But that may reduce the risk of screw stripping)

@Acayas , you wouldn't by chance know the needed screw types would you????

And just like Acayas replacement parts, the LEFT Leg parts are more transparent. That's the more common broken ankle too...

In case it helps, I have pictures of the screw locations. The part swap is overall EASY, assuming you can get the screws out without stripping them.

To reassemble, you want to gently put the screws in PRIOR to performing the fix. What I mean here is put the screw in, turn until there is resistance, then turn it once or twice to THREAD the plastic, then remove the screw and clear off the plastic waste. The plastic itself is very strong and if you don't start the screws on the *new* parts where you can drive straight down, your fix will not last.

After doing this with the new part, putting it back together was easy and it is tight, making a damn near perfect figure.

    Any questions, just PM me.

Does anyone know how to contact Generation Toy directly? I tried emailing them at [email protected] and it said that email doesn't exist.

The chance to reach them is slim, particularly during pandemic. Your best bet is to go through your retailers.

I got no support for their menasor re-issue so I wouldn’t expect much. They are a pretty bad company.

I bought my Tyrant from ebay. The seller told me 3 weeks to send new part. That was July 17th. I have contacted the seller a few times now with no answer.

I just got mine and checked the ankles, broke out of the box. They are broken right in the center where the screw ends.

Something to point out as well:

There's rubber rings in the ankle joint that people have consistently reported breaks, they're meant to increase the friction of the joint to help the figure to stand up. IMO take them out, they're adding unnecessary friction to the ankle and seem to contribute to the breakage of the ankle.

The figure seems to stand up just fine with or without the stand even if you take out the rubber rings, and they included a stand in the release, so I have no clue why they decided to add in that part.
