I ordered this from Sweetmall on ebay.

If I buy third party upgrade kits, it's usually weapons (I am not too fussed with gap fillers and the like unless the gaps are really egregious* but the toe bump poking out of SS86 Leader class Sludge looks pretty bad. And realy uneccesary, couldnt they have handled that, considering the leader class price bracket? Two extra hinges? But I decided to go with it as I think it will be a while before more large dinobots will be available from Hasbro/Takara. (Not including recolours like G2 and Shattered Glass, which will be the same moulds anyway. Kinda fancy that upcoming SG Grimlock though.)

There was a choice between this type of kit and a big fill- in shield accesory, and I plumped for this. I like that it doesn't involve parts-forming (and filling in the belly isn't such a big deal, since you cant usually see it, although this seems to do a decent job of doing that too). And not that keen on armoured robots sporting shields from parts. An unnecessary but very pleasing add-on are those bits you can attach to the original foot bits to turn them into side/shoulder rocket launcher arrays! Not traditional Sludge weapons but it's a cool option which makes use of the old bits, and looks pretty good.

I also ordered this from the same seller. I am mainly interested in the sword as I'm happy with the gun he comes with (although this is more G1 toy faithful), but it was cheaper than other swords without the guns. Also occurs that I can give the gun to the upcoming SS86 Snarl! Two sorted in one! And you get missile add on and the googly cartoon eyes. Not so fussed about those but nice to have for the price. And I'll admit the googly pop-out eyes tickle my sense of humour.

*I did buy the fill-in for ER Optimus Prime's cab, the front teeth for SS86 Grimlock** and the fill-in back/ fin for Astrotrain, and chest filler for Optimus Primal. Oh and the front wheel fill in bits for the earthrise seekers. Okay, that kind of mounted up, but point is the gaps were really visible!

** I was mostly getting that for the sword, but seriously why was the one dinobot with a dinosaur mode famous for its jaw, big teeth and tremendous bite force, the one with the missing front teeth? They included them with the brontosaurus!

I just noticed on the Sharkwo set for Battletrap that the hand covers don't appear to sit flush and have its own clearance issues. The stock arms also require disassembly to use the set.


I'm aware of the Tim Heada SS Airazor set with the worse looking feet. Also aware of the TH Skyquake set with worse handle articulation for his gatling gun. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The DNA Design DK-38 set appears to be getting a KO version minus the trailer gun parts.

DNA Designs might, otherwise pretty unlikely, nobody besides them really makes those kinds of third party upgrade sets anymore.

 

The "A-grade" Axes have been removed, as I won't be casting them anymore. But I will be selling versions with slight bubbles in the future, at a discounted pricing.

Nothing yet, if anyone does it it’ll likely be DNA designs. Besides that I only see companies doing gap fillers and maybe new shurikens and accessories.

Go Better's next set...thigh fillers for SS86 Scourge and Legacy Alpha Trion. Well, it's at least something.

 

Wish Go Better did something for SS86 Arcee and Legacy Hot Shot already.

 

If they were going to go to the effort they could have done the screw holes in his wing kibble too and if they wanted to got the extra mile his triceps and the screw holes in his buttplate. I like these though I bet it would get expensive for those with more than 1 sweep to address.

 

I have 1 Scourge, 5 Sweeps, and 2 Alpha Trions. I might skip buying these for the Sweeps and just get sets for Scourge and the Trions.

I don't see the point to _this_ sort of thing since (to quote Emgo) I don't display my figures facing the wall/back of the shelf. I've honestly mostly ever gotten fillers as part of a package deal or as an add-on because I felt like throwing more money JRC's way (Slug sword + foot fillers were cheap back then). I got the Go Better set for Core Soundwave, but haven't actually done anything with the new feet funny enough.

 

If you can get one of these swords by Renderform it just finishes Metalhawk perfectly

Also couldn't help myself and got the wrist adapter for Menasor since I had no use for the Hasbro guns since I got individual replacements for each bot and use Motormaster's as the center blaster.

 

Looks like TFSource finally got DK-38 set in.

Moon Base restocked the Dark-Ism Flamewar head. Still haven't seen Mandarake list any of the newest Dark-Ism heads.

BBTS is lising DK-25 (SS86 Jazz, Hot Rod, Kup + SS BB Starscream set) and DK-26 (MPM Starscream and Barricade set) at half off. These cannot be added to POL.

The DK-25 set is a mixed bag. The Daniel figure is trash. The SS BB Starscream hands are horrifically awful and somehow ended up being worse than stock. The rest of the parts are fine.

I have not tried out DK-26 nor do I have any MPM figures.

 

I think this filler is as much about hand feel as it is look, those gaps "feel" ugly as much as look gappy. if you just but a figure and stick it on the shelf then fillers are not required at all really, take Cheetors leg fillers for example they mostly benefit beast mode, so if someone never transforms him they'd not be getting the benefit of them.

But I play with Alpha Trion a fair bit, he's not likely to be superseeded by another Alpha T for a long time so he's going to get handled and when handled then I notice the gaps, i'd feel them in this case. Alpha's fillers look nicer though so If I was going to start anywhere it would be with those even before scourge or the sweeps, But well Cyclonus had fillers so why not the flying slipper brigade too.

received my nonnef stunticon upgrades yesterday. the wheel hub fillers are a bit tight so the wheels barely move. other than that, everything else is top notch. the color match on the off white spoiler is perfect.
