All their early kits, with the exception of the Jetfire ears, did not fit out the box. All pegs oversized. All ports undersized. This supposedly changed with the Ratchet kit, when people started reporting proper fit out the box. Then it went back again (dunno which kit had the problems appear again, the ER OP Roller jetpack failed to work out the box). People are reporting some of their recent kits as fitting again although still getting reports of some needing modding.

To summarize, depends on the set. Wait for a honest guinea pig to report findings.

I have the Protectobot and Aerialbot weapon sets and they work well. I don't think I needed to modify any pegs or ports. I got them for the individual bot modes, as I prefer a single solid gun for the combiner's weapon vs a combining one, but the combination aspect worked fine too. I was careful with them but they seemed pretty solid. The only real downside IMO is the white pegs.

hey guys, do any of you know what that loose hinge spray stuff was called? not Future, the other stuff. I know this is the upgrades thread but since it does help figures play better, i guess it counts?

Do you mean shock oil? You put that in overly tight joints to loosen them up.

I had to do that with the ball joint shoulder on my SRC Daizyujin way back when, but the shoulder squeak went away and it rotates buttery smooth now.

The particular brand I bought was 80w Factory Team Silicone Shock Fluid.

    Found a link: https://www.amazon.com/Team-Associa...&keywords=80w+shock+oil&qid=1633811425&sr=8-1

    You mean this?
    https://www.amazon.com/kiki-Loose-J...002LIBULM/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

I tossed it onto my wishlist for archival when I heard about it last. Can't think of anything else that'd do the job of Future that's not Future.

So, on this set, tolerances are tight. Even after trimming a little material from the edges of the apertures, wheels will move by hand, but don't really roll under the figure's weight anymore. That being said, the esthetic is more important to me, and I couldn't be happier with the way they look. Fantastic design, and excellent print quality and paint! Thanks to both designer and producer!

That's as "real world" looking as one could ask for.

You can tell, but it's not too offensive. There's FDM layer lines but you have to look for them.

So we can expect the next new wave from Hasbro not to have rolling wheels anymore and the fans will be happy.

That's actually a method to make a factory warped split mushroom peg hold in place better (but not a broken split peg). The sides of the mushroom peg are now pushing against the sides of the hole too much, which then creates too much friction to roll.

You already trimmed material, which would be the fix, but there's such a fine line between too tight and too loose.

Depends on the fan, I suppose.
Frankly, I'm a little nervous to pull them on and off trying to get it perfect. I popped the first one back off to trim a little, and that was about enough for me... I believe you're correct in your assessment, but I cant tell if the split peg ends are bottoming out a little bit on the back side of the wheel surface as well. Just to put that out there.

Anyone get these horns for SS86 Slug? Trying to see if they are metallic before buying, can't tell from the listing image.

    &

Thank you, both. Sounds like a 50/50 chance in some ways. I guess I'm going to take a chance. Hope it works out...
