Yup, I'll be keeping an eye out for this too. I think it's pretty clear that Hasbro will either never address these characters, or, if they do, they will make low-grade rubbish like the Siege cassetticons.

Let's give him some time. He might just surprise us, he certainly did with these two so far. He might want to fire up some molds for Eject, Rewind, and Steeljaw... Micromasters failed, miserably, and Hasbro canceled them. Can't imagine they'll be jumping at the chance to make Blaster's cassettes... (I've been wrong before, though.)

Well, good news! I almost have the foot fillers done, still a few tweaks to be made yet, and I want to try a slightly darker filament for them, but here is how they look so far! Still trying to model entirely new horns before I go down the fillers route just yet.

 

I'm skipping the figure (no space) but those fillers look spot-on! Keep up the great work!

I'd love a new Buzzsaw (finally). I wonder if, since we're getting saucer Bee from Hasbro, if Dr. Wu could do a Buzzsaw/bird mold also based on Laserbeak's appearance in the G1 cartoon MTMTE, part 1. It'd set their version apart from the WfC Siege mold and Netflix retool.

 

Dr. Wu has announced replacement arms for MPM-12 Optimus Prime. These arms do fix the cat ears problem in alt mode.

 

Super easy to detach. There is a pin shot through the entire dino head, and the horns just have clips that attach to said pin, so they can just pop out.

Well, it looks like sweetmall-1's newest listing/auction confirms it; 3D printed and painted aftermarket guns that most decidedly are not actually Dr. Wu's.

 

Not really. It still looks exactly like the Dr. Wu blasters. I don't see 3d printed anywhere in the auction listing. A lot of the chinese sellers will often put stuff like 3D and DIY in titles, which means nothing. The other reliable sellers are also listing the same Dr. Wu blasters.

 

Well, why not advertise and name it as such then? wonderfullys was the first to list these (or similar) guns, actually calling them the Dr. Wu P-49 set, and I messaged him a little over a week ago.

This kit is indeed DW-P49.
But they are a batch of stock products. Because DW-P49 has been discontinued and is no longer in production.
But this batch of products is made by MR.WU. I am not sure if it is produced by injection molding. So I wrote 3D printing on the title first. This avoids misunderstanding by some customers.
They will arrive in our warehouse tomorrow. If you need it, I can get back to you after checking tomorrow.

Dr. Wu posted more prototype pics of their Roller figure called Hoodle for their micro-scaled Optimus Prime molds called Prime Commander. My only beef about this is that it should've came with the Prime Commander figures already. We have the Nemesis version of the figure, who is pretty good. Hoodle is going to be tiny (and pricy).

 

Got my ZX coins/golden disks and clear chest piece for SS86 Grimlock in today from sweetmall-1, and tl dr; they're decent buys.


First impressions on the packing job are always good (even the past times when I had sour experiences). There certainly is no kill like overkill for making sure your stuff gets to you without dings/scrapes.

The wrap job of the bubble wrap reminds me of an egg roll. Also has that open end to yoink your thingy out.

SS86 Grimlock Clear Chest Piece


Right away, it looks to be a (more or less) straight KO of the OEM/stock chest piece. That one side has a rough finish. I'm guessing that's what ziltama mentioned in his review about the air vent for the resin cast? At any rate, the removal job they did was noticeably bad, opted to file down that side of the chest lightly so I could run my finger over it without scraping/catching.


Comparing with the OEM/stock piece. The clear chest's mounting pegs seem to be spaced ever so slightly further apart than the overly smokey Hasbro one's. You could actually just shove it in and let friction keep it in place inside Grimlock's chest.


After the install. I opted to reuse the original tiny screws just so I wouldn't need to baggy them up and keep track of them. The screw on Grimlock's left side didn't go in as smoothly as the one on his right, but I'm hoping there won't be issues if I ever feel like removing the clear chest to tinker with it some more. Could be cleaner where the vent/tab was sheared off but solid nonetheless.

ZX Studios Golden Disks Set

Less interactive since I didn't have any WFC toys on my desk with opposable thumbs/opening hands, but you get them individually bubble wrapped inside a bigger baggy.


Voyager Disk looks good to me. The chrome is unforgiving and highlights all the small nicks and blemishes though, so you'll definitely notice them whether you're looking for them or not.


Vok Disk. The one side with the schmutz (thanks, Emgo!) is off-putting. I wiped it with a damp cloth and it seemed to get rid of some of it, but I may need use soap or a detergent to clean it better.

They look good. Not immaculate, but I'm just adding data points this time (instead of the alternative). Truthfully I mostly bought the coin set because sweetmall-1 offered a discount to effectively waive shipping since I watched the listing, and I didn't feel like buying The Ark for plastic disks. I can see myself buying those little coin display stands for these.

8/10 for both.

Normally I don't double-post (because I hate it) but I feel sweetmall-1's follow-up regarding the Insecticon guns needs to stand out from my feedback on the recent upgrade stuff I nabbed.

Looking like these are the real things then, either new like the recasts of the Skybreaker/Dark Tyrant that are surfacing on eBay or old stock they found in a warehouse somewhere.
Short of the insane option of buying a kit and stripping the paint off/chopping up the guns to see the plastic make-up I'm willing to drop this line of queries.

 

I will say after seeing the Kingdom series on netflix, I do want a blue eyes kit for the Ark
