Ah yes, that one as well. Yeah looks fantastic, but with shipping and the overall price, it's a tad steep.

Recently got ahold of Core Soundwave from one of the local Target stores. Great figure except for the feet in alt mode. Tim Heada announced a new feet replacement kit which takes care of alt mode kibble.


TH's recent stuff has been hit or miss. The convertible null rays were great, but I haven't had another kit reach the quality of the null rays yet. Really liked his Grapple articulated claw piece too.

TH also announced their Ultra Magnus hammer and missiles set. If you like big hammers, then here's another option. The Shockwave Lab hammer set is awesome if you need another option.

 

So I've started roughing out the shape for Nemesis Roller, and I started wondering what kinds of features it should have. I know I want it to be able to haul titanmasters, have a place for the repair drone, and pull the trailer, but I'm kind of stuck on what else it should have.

Here is the rough shape I have so far:


I want this to look like it can just go through anything, and no matter what you shoot at it it will keep driving, but I don't necessarily want to lean into spikes like Firetox's Nemesis Roller did just yet, and I don't want to give it treads, since it would be hard to make it roll, but I'm kind of stuck stylistically at this point. Any suggestions for features or styling would be greatly appreciated!

 

I'm thinking either a cow catcher, or some kinda big shovel on the front. Like this Roller tools around the battlefield scraping bodies off the ground.

 

How about a Decepticon symbol? Could make it angled like the cow catchers on ye olde steam locomotives, and it may be a bit on-the-nose, but it'd definitely be an implement of OUTTA MY WAY, JERKASS.

 

Anyone ordered that Sword made for Gen. Selects Star Convoy? how’s the quality and does that weapon exist in the lore or if it’s just made for the sake of giving SC a cool looking weapon?

 

The second one, I believe. It's been awhile since I read the Battlestars manga, but I don't remember him having a sword, and the G1 toy definitely doesn't have one.

 

Well, I got to try my resin printer out with the Nemesis Roller prototype. I was going to add a cow catcher as suggested, but I was having trouble getting it to fit in with everything. I was, however, able to add a place in front for a reprolabel. I would just have the deception symbol on already, but I don't want to chance getting a C&D. I noticed that the initial design kind of reminded me of a battlebot, so I tried to design the front as if it was going to be driven into stuff, and made a little grate to help protect the titanmaster driver. The prototype still needs actual seating for the titanmasters, they are just holes right now, and some tweaking so the repair drone can fit on it, but all in all, I think it looks pretty good so far as a first attempt. Right now it's just using the tires I made for Ironhide and Ratchet, but I know right now they need to be wider. I can't go any bigger with it either, as the trailer already barely closes, but that's going to be fixed by just taking half a millimeter or so off each side.

Here it is "connected" to the trailer using it's center port. It's got to come up a but yet so the trailer can actually plug into it.

Damn, that feet kit for Soundwave is exactly what I need!

 

Speaking as someone currently based in the UK I was wondering if one was able to buy one thing as an international purchase on ebay to get the postage paid and you wanted saya dozen or more other things would you be prepared to send out a paypal commercial invoice for the rest on request ?

I was also curious how you were getting along fiinding the proper colour material to make Black Rorichi wheel covers ?
Or if you'd perhaps considered contrasting ones instead of matching ones - so that would be gold and grey instead of Orange and Purple ?

 

After seeing the feet kit, I'll be looking for that Kingdom Soundwave now....

#1 and #2 look like the Juqi teeth and feet fillers set, #3 and #4 are colorless clear neck and chest window pieces respectively [looks to have the proper sized screw posts], #5 is a flip style forearm covers that's different than the ZX set, #6 is a new sword that I don't recognize seeing previously with black hilt and clear red blade, #7 is screw hole fillers that may be new, and #8 is the previous clear yellow neck pieces with partially articulated dino hands set. #1, #2, #8 not shown in this post.

If going to purchase the DNA Design kit in the future, then the only kits that don't overlap [unless DNA adds them on later] would be #4 and #7. #6 if you want a black and red sword and #3 if you want colorless clear neck pieces.



The usual eBay sellers are also listing the Tim Heada Ultra Magnus Hammer and Missiles set along with pics of the final version:

Although the side peg is in white, the main handle (if the same as recent TH releases) is in a very tough, unpainted black material (I'm guessing nylon).

 

Kind of disappointed the T-Wrecks kit includes the gun and toothbrush, I'd have been happy with just the fillers

 

I was hoping for something more inventive for Go Better's T-Wrecks upgrade.

 

I'm not sure about those bigger missiles, but I love how the community just hands Ultra Magnus the Forge of Solus Prime nowadays no matter the continuity.

Those clear neck and chest pieces for Grimlock look promising.

 

I was expecting this for T-Wrecks. Using the same mold and just updating the colors makes the most fiscal sense.

Makes me wonder tho if they'll be including the toothbrush and rifle for the Jurassic Park version. Definitely the thighs and arm covers are a plus, but maybe something more movie related like a leg-o'-lamb or a road flare would be more appropriate. How about a little Mr. Genaro, lol! Oooh, or a amber-encased mosquito that can peg into said road flare and Rexy can hold like a staff? That'd be cool.

 

A sword would have been cooler.

Just saying.

 

What kind of sword? (I'm not very familiar with T-Wrecks as a character.) I have no interest in signing up for Target's terrible credit card to get him, but I could use Beast Wars Megatron for testing.

 

I don't know. Sword, hammer, any sort of blunt weapon that could go well with the character.
