I feel like there are a bunch of Ecto-1's out there already. I picked up a pretty decent looking 1:18 one on clearance a little while back for like $40.
Wasn't Mattel planning to make a 1/12 Ecto-1 at some point back when they had the license, but it got scuttled? I'd still be up for it via Haslab, though I do kinda doubt the market is there. The proton pack was cool but I've never been one to collect props/replicas. Even with SW, I only have a couple of the old MC FX sabers because the novelty of a 'real' lightsaber was too cool to pass up. I'm in this for the Toys, and 6" Ghostbusters were something I'd waited for a looong time. I don't really know what to expect or hope for next. I'm having trouble thinking of another Marvel project that would have the appeal of Sentinel/Galactus. Quinjet sure, but could it be done at an acceptable scale/price? Fantasticar isn't really appealing enough regardless of either. Star Wars needs to go back to what's worked which is TVC scale. The Ghost is a certainty for the Ahsoka show and could easily show up in Andor S2. The smart play would be to reveal it after it shows up in Ahsoka (2023), so that it arrives around when it shows up in Andor (2024). They could try and pull a Sail Barge 2.0 and go with the Tantive IV which is something else people have wanted for decades, and the only gaping hole in 1/18 SW vehicles. I can't think of much else that I'd be willing to drop $300-500 on. G.I.Joe OTOH is wide open for Classified or vintage/retro. Classified Mobat? Sure. Upgraded/new mold 3 3/4 Night Raven? Bring it. Looking forward to whatever it is they're planning.
ARAH 3.75 Night Raven redesigned to ensure the landing gear parts/mechanisms are built to last would be something I’d back. Mold hasn’t been used since the early 90’s for the chrome Sky Patrol repaint. Unlocks could easily be: Weapons systems officer(WSO) figure Piggyback jet pilot figure Ground crew with weapons carrying crates and maintenance ladders Alternate missles/bombs Flight stand
I have a kind of off-beat idea for a ML HasLab. The Mole Man and one of his giant monsters as the base item. The tiers could be various moloids.
Why assume the Ghost will be showing up in Andor?? Regardless of that I do think it would make a great choice for TVC with some Ashoka hype to drive it. But since I don't collect that scale, still gonna be sitting over here wondering what they could do for Black Series that could actually work...
I dunno about assume, but the opportunity is definitely there. Season 2 is supposed to cover the years between S1 and Rogue One. From Rebels, we know the crew is on Yavin 4 during the latter days of that span, and the ship is visible in Rogue One. Some of the characters will have already been introduced to the non-toon audience by then via Ahsoka. They don't need to play a major role in Andor or anything, but it's a hell of a wasted opportunity if there's not at least a brief appearance of the ship and/or some of the crew. The Ghost will almost certainly be prominently featured in Ahsoka, which would be the real timed selling point for a Haslab. An appearance in Andor would just be a dash of marketing synergy around the time the ship actually...er, ships. Sort of the opposite of blowing up the Razorcrest right before the toy shipped.
I think the issue 1 cover FF would make better tiers and the moleoids could be separate release army builders so people can choose how many they want.
So I went to the HasLab page on Pulse to check if the Deathsauras numbers have changed in the last week since the cancellation period is coming to an end soon and I noticed the Rancor got moved to "In Production"
Notice it as well 8533 out of 9000. But still says failed on the Rancor page. Some team responsible for the page probably put it by error into that category instead of just putting in the past projects.
Weird thing is that it originally was in the "Past Projects" section as recent as last week. I just went ot the page to check if the Deathsauras numbers have reduced yet during the cancellation period. If it is a glitch it is weird that anything on the page would change as there have ben no other changes to the page or the status of HasLabs since then. Even Victory Saber still says it is "Estimated to ship in Winter 2022" instead of currently shipping.
Marvel Legends: X-Men Jet, it's Haslabs and a "dream project" make it detailed, large, and under $600. The jet does not have to be one solid piece and could need some assembly. Star Wars: TVC has a long and large list: 1- Ghost (new ship, but small fan base). 2- Imperial Shuttle, classic ship, 40th anniversary of ROTJ, an update to a highly wanted design. 3- Republic Gunship, 20th anniversary of AOTC, an update to a wanted design. Black Series: 1- AT-ST, two drivers, Chewbacca, and the Ewoks. 2- Darth Vader's meditation chamber from Empire Strikes Back. It's ,the face of the franchise, the most popular character from the verse. 3- X-Wing, have it done in a way that the ship could be Red 5, a Wedge, and a generic X-Wing (it will allow those that want several configurations). G.I. Joe ARAH has a lot of never made ships from the show. 1- Cobra red snake head transport ship. 2- Cobra spaceship from the opening sequence from the 87 movie. 3- updated Cobra Rattler, we have the Skystriker. Classifieds: 1- Dreadnoks Thunder machine. 2- Mauler 3- Mobat 4- Cobra Water Robots
Interesting. IF this is true, then Hasbro is basically torching its whole business model for Haslab. I wonder if they're dropping the idea, or if they think people will be stupid enough to keep paying huge premium prices after this.
Could just be left over stock from extra replacement units that were produced to cover defective units. Better to get some money for them than the just trash them.
Who is going to not back a HasLab they want on the off-chance they can secure one of the few leftover units at clearance price? Not many I would assume. I don’t see this being an issue for HasLab at all. The bigger issue is the ideas that are being brought to the table by HasLab.
You realize you've just made certain parts of each of the fandoms for all of Hasbro's properties essentially say "hold my beer" right?
