Maybe the Generation Toys one didn't sell well .... so they might be rethinking this project.

No, because the GT Bomber Megs was not even a thing (I think) back when this vote happened. But even so, I don't think the sales have been poor. Besides, GCreations looks a whole lot better than GT's version IMO.

It's hard to look worse when it's a silhouette. And given this company's reputation, the transformation will be a lot worse. The shape of the alt mode is also not convincing.

 

Sixshot was the next to be made to increase the faith of the consumer on the company due to the problems of their Optimus. And I think they succeeded. Their Prowl is quite good too.

 

You didn't even look at the render, did you? Everything about this one looks better than GT's, even the vehicle mode.

 

For the vote they showed their in progress projects (other than Bayformer Grimlock which is a different line) and then had 3 silhouettes for people to vote on what they did after what they had already had in progress. The thing to remember there is that probably means it was revealed earlier in the development process than normally done so it could very easily take longer from reveal to release.

As for the GT version being a thing or not, I voted against Megatron specifically because I knew the GT one was coming and I wanted more variety.

Yeah, I much prefer G-Creation's aesthetic, and I bought their Optimus. I really hope I get the Megatron to finish the pair.

That GT Bomber Megs is a tough figure to beat. VERY well produced... Good luck GC.

 

Yep, just transformed him back from bot mode to alt mode, and it's such a pleasure to transform. Nothing feels forced. This is probably my favorite IDW Megatron design so if the GCreations one turn out well, I might still double dip.

 

Man if it's anything like their last figure, prowl, he is gonna be leaps and bounds ahead of the GT one.

Aw man. End of year? Throw in the obligatory 3P delays , plus an early Chinese New Year and this will be April or May 2019. What a pain. And drift will be a year or so after that? Man they're slow.

 

I hope it comes with a lot of ratchets like their Fuuma! The lack of ratchet joints was something I didn't like about GT Bomber Megatron... Apart from that, everything else in the GT version is quite nice

 

every time I look at GT’s Stealth Bomber Megatron, the proportions just look so bad to me. And the rail gun/arm cannon is TINY! Albeit, GCreations’ doesn’t look that much bigger, but it’s still bigger. The GT figure just looks like it’s missing some part that I can’t identify.

 

He's really quite good in hand. But. Taking a look at the comics, it seems that GT has the following issues:

-head crest is ever so slightly too stretched on the Y axis
-rail gun is too small obviously
-the arm guards lack the points on the back end, not to mention an essential "M" panel line completely missing
-the legs are a tad too bulky
-the shoulders could use a slight bulk to them

I'm only really nitpicky with it all only because Bomber Megs is one of my favorite designs. I really hope GC's already seemingly more comic accurate design has only improved and tweaked over time and that we can get a prototype up before the year ends,
