Looks like Generation Toy are going to have some competition! Here's a teaser for GCreation's own IDW Bomber Megatron.

 

Isn't there a thread for this Megatron already?

EDIT: is Pax still slated for this month? Or did the tweaks and new head push it back?

 

Hell yes. I really don't like the proportions on the GT one, it just doesn't catch the almost Macross-sleekness and design features of the original art. With how close GC Prime is to the art, I am way more excited and hopeful for this one.

Well now…I'd be perfectly happy with GT's version, but I love having options. Can't wait to see it.

 

uuuuuhhhhh.... WOW. Now I have to choose between two different Bomber Megs?!? Drift looks pretty damn sweet as well!

 

I hope this turns out great. I was sorely disappointed by Hasbro's bomber Megatron and Generation Toy's is a bit too bulky.

 

As long as they get the size of the Railgun correct.

 

I think in the next couple of years, I will just be following GCreation's MP Scale IDW line adn MAketoys Cross Dimension.

That is something that Takara will never touch, though Generation Toy will be a direct competitor as they have IDW Jazz already.

A more sleeker Bomber Megatron would go well with the IDW Optimus. I was actually hoping for the tank Megatron in Robots in Disguise arc by Andrew Griffiths.



I am not really familiar with the timing with all the different visual modes of Optimus and Megatron in IDW verse. So is the bomber Megs the one that fights Optimus in the current GCreation mould the most?

The question is, while GCreation Optimus is one of the first attempts at a sleeker bot mode whilst maintaining an accurate alt mode via complex transformation, will it work for the other guys such as the Seekers and Bomber Mega? The Ultra Magnus proportions should be similar to those of KFC.

 

And now that makes me even more tempted on the Optimus.... just wish the trailer hitch wasn't an after thought.... I'd be satisfied with a simple arm to have it fold up on the back of the bot mode.

 

Are both MMC Hexatron and GCreation Sixshot based on the same IDW design?

I personally don't like those proportions on Sixshot too much.

 

I really love the all hail Megatron gun mode personally but I like Bomber-tron to if they can get it right. GT's is just a bit off to me.

 

With Fans Toys dominating all G1 Seasons 2-3 cartoon characters, will more companies emerge to compete with GCreation in doing more IDWs like Bumblebee?

So far we only have GCreation(G1 classic characters), Generation Toys with TransformMission, MMC(only the obscure IDW exclusive characters with no earth modes), and Iron Factory(some IDW accurate ones).

The good thing about IDW classic G1 characters is that they are a visual upgrade and could still be applied to other general G1 story settings without being too bounded to its native continuity.

Well, at least we are now getting adult collector's grade IDW inspired toys, not just Hasbro IDW inspired kids stuff.

Despite all the different visual forms in IDW verse, there will always be one that stands out the most and retains most of the G1 essence while being upgraded and modernised.

Modernisation and IDW comic styling comes with sleek proportions, which is very difficult to achieve in a complex transforming figure. Iron Factory had it easier but I hate those giant port holes.
