Most likely from temperature changes in the room causing it to expand and contract and clearly the rubber isn't built for much wear and tear.

For the most part yea. None of the rubber on any of my other figures have degraded over time (like my multiple MP01 and 10s), much less in the 3 months of owning.

I see that the rubber rupture is located near of points of high mechanical stress (I think I saw another one that is about to tear in the same spot) ... That and the nature of rubber under dry environments could cause those problems... @MINDVVIPE is right too... Material fatigue can also be a problem.

Are your figures exposed to sunlight?!

My two copies are fine... The rubber feels like new, the third one... I don't know because it's in storage at the moment.

I live in a tropical region too! That was my concern when I bought some Phicen figures... I didn't know how the environment conditions could affect soft rubbery materials...

    That sucks.

I know this doesn't help now, but depending on your climate, it may have been the cause.
Here is an old trick with White Vinegar etc for rubber:
    Shockwave's rubber hose maintenance?
Maybe super glue the treads back together and apply white vinegar to see if the current treads can be salvaged, else I would look at replacement variable size plastic tank treads...
    something like but better size
    https://www.amazon.com/Tamiya-Track-Wheel-Set-70100/dp/B001VZJDY2/

Or you could ask your vendor to have Gcreation send you another set of 4 and then apply some protection from the Shockwave thread.

If the rubber comes off mine, screw it, I'm taking them all off and saying he's a hover tank with a bunch of grinding points to kill or crush anything caught beneath on the sides. Done.
He has terrible ground clearance in this mode anyway so what i do is make sure nothing is making contact except the wheel at his crotch, and the 2 car mode shoulder wheels which i turn downward at enough of an angle to hold up the front and roll on them.

Sunlight usually doesn't get into my room at all since I keep my windows shut, but after Hurricane Maria I spent 5 months without power and my windows were open, allowing some indirect sunlight to come in. Power wasn't restored until exactly 5 weeks ago today.

Fortunately, I only care how the treads look and not if they "work as they should"... :p

Yeah I like seeing the treads there if it's a tank, even if they don't touch the ground since some tank modes have fake treads with wheels and the whole thing hovers a lil over the ground anyway.
What i can't stand is parts touching the ground that shouldn't. It totally ruins the vehicle mode for me.

I could tell by my replacements that they were a much softer more pliable plastic (not rubber) than the ones installed and splitting. I have heard the arguments about rubber but there is just no replacement for it. I think because the plastic is cheaper and generally more durable they thought it would work but the initial batch was just too brittle so they included the replacements. The replacements will not fail.

So they're actually a different material? Do they look different too (may thinner or a different sheen to the colour)?

I'm on the fence with Fuuma - I think he's nice but not perfect, but I also think I prefer him over FansToys Hydra just slightly. I'm not keen on the treads breaking but if the included replacements are indeed an improvement, I could live with that.

It's a very good IDW interpretation of him! It blends nicely with my other IDW MP style figures.
