It’s NECA. I’ll bet you a dollar today that eventually they’ll release an ultimate version with both sets of wings, more accessories, and a snarling face with glow in the dark eyes.
Goddamnit. I did NOT want to believe the hype. He’s… He’s terrific. Where am I gonna find room for the rest of them?
You’re just gonna have to resign yourself to the fact that your going to buy all the other figures that come with the smaller figures
Goliath has always had a less-cartoonish face from the get-go. And it'd be hard to redesign the trio without drastically changing them as they each have very distinct, more-exaggerated features compared to Goliath's "human"-like face (for lack of a better term). I think they've struck a good balance between the cartoon models and a more detailed design.
I’m really torn on the folded wings. Would it make getting more of them on the shelf easier? Totally. But they’re SO impressive, and so beautifully sculpted, it’d be a huge shame to pack them away in the closet in favor of the cape look. They’re among the best wings I’ve ever encountered on a toy. Now I’m totally wishing NECA would revisit the Bat Gremlin with something like these, rather than the vinyl and wire armature ones.
Oh I'd still use the open wings but the folded would be better for other poses and pictures. Options are king after all lol
Something interesting I just noticed. When Goliath first came out, folks commented that range of motion was restricted on the neck due to excess material at the back of the ball socket, and there were a number of people who shaved out some of that plastic around the lip to improve motion. Went to do the same to mine, buuuut it’s already done, right out of the box. They must have slightly adjusted the tooling on more recent production runs based on that feedback. Good looking out, Neca.
If I get any of these, it will probably be Lexington. Demona is kinda sexy in a winged blue claw-wielding demon sorta way, though…haha…
It's actually a legal issue why they can't distribute to the UK so there's little chance of this happening. As they can sell in US there's not a load of incentive for them to work on fixing it like they do other licensing issues. Best bet is to import or find a friendly US penpal that can send them across.
Shame they sell every other NECA figure in the UK without problem. Wonder why Gargoyles is so different.
It's the license, not NECA themselves. Which is odd considering it's a Disney property. Maybe the production was messy back in the 90's.
It’s discussed at 13:40 in this video. Cannot imagine you’d be able tell with the figure in its box, since you have to remove the head to access the balljoint. Not a huge deal either way; we’re literally talking about a millimeter or two of material. Just lets the head look up fractionally more.
