I've always wanted to see more Transformers fangames! This looks promising, I'll definitely check it out.
Tried it for a bit, this is really good so far! Did you do this yourself, or is there framework to put it in like the old "Beats of Rage" days? I really like how you scrambled colours for the player models to make generics, a smart move, are they procedural or did you come up with all of them on your own?
Hey, thanks for checking it out! It's not BOR (Beats of Rage). I've been learning Unity for several years now and the basic source code for this game came from an instructional book I got on how to make a beat'em up in Unity. It was a really a good foundation but I added a lot of extra features on top of it (multi-player, multiple attacks, character select, etc.) All the resources I used to put together the game are in the credit's menu and credits text file. I got a lot of help from multiple places cause I don't have the talent or time to create original SFX and background music. The 3D models are my own work. The character attacks are derived from popular fighting game characters too The colors on the enemy units are my own design too. I think they turned out okay but it's hard to come up with interesting color schemes.
Update #1 has been uploaded! It's playable through your browser or as a downloadable app. Links in my signature! New stuff in the update: six additional playable characters, twelve new enemy times and four more stages. Update #1 trailer included in the first post of this thread.
Do you have signatures turned off? They're there? Unity WebGL Player | Ganiron-Beat Em Up Ganiron by poneley
If you view the message board through a mobile browser, there's a good chance it won't display signatures. If you view this message board in portrait mode on an iPhone, it'll cut out the sigs but if you view it in landscape mode, it includes the sigs. Thank you.
I am mildly addicted to this game. really fun. very challenging(I suck a video games). I like all the weird names the generics have. needless to say, as the school year approaches, I'll be playing a good bit of this instead of doing homework. great work.
Hey, I’ve been playing as Soundwave, Megatron, and prime, and they don’t take damage. You might want to find what’s doing that. It could just be something to do with my device though. Still, look into it maybe.
Thank you! I try my best to make sure everything works correctly but sometimes I fail to notice things, even obvious things like this. This is a good reminder to check on those characters. BTW, next update will arrive in a week!
Update #2 has been uploaded! It's playable through your browser or as a downloadable app. Links in my signature! New stuff in the update: six additional playable characters, twelve new enemy times and a new stage. New characters: Wheeljack, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Rumble, Laserbeak and Ravage. Update #2 trailer included in the first post of this thread. Enjoy!
This is really neat. Ravage and Laserbeak seem to be a little broken - a lot of enemy attacks (esp. basic kicks) just sort of sail over them.
Third update has been uploaded to my website and on itch.io. Check my sig for details. Six more characters added- Hound, Mirage, Smokescreen, Frenzy, Buzzsaw and Ratbat! Lots of small improvements to user experience and overall gameplay, including giving each character six additional colors! Trailer has been uploaded and posted to the first post on this thread. Yeah, that's on purpose!
No, you can't. I thought about implementing something like that but didn't think it would add much to this type of game.
I just played it for a bit (never knew about it until I finally read your signature a little more closely, lol). I played as Ironhide (of course, haha). Great job...simple and fun. And, it gave me immediate NES Double Dragon vibes (probably spent months of my life on that game as a kid).
Thanks! It’s very straightforward but I think it’s a fun novelty. I’m working on something brand new though and won’t be updating this project. I don’t have a timeline on when I’ll announce my new project but when it’s ready, I’ll show it off here. I’m excited about the future. My skills at 3D modeling and overall game development keep improving. There’s gonna be cool stuff to look forward to.
