As kinda a sister thread to the "Games you don't like, but others enjoy."

I thought it'd be kinda nice to go the other way. Games that you enjoyed that others did not.

One for me is TF2. Loved the "Classes" in the Multiplayer and I found the "Transform as a gas button" to be the best of the transforming scenarios ever.

Another for me was Chrono Cross. I would play an updated remake of that game in a heartbeat!

Pikmin. One of Nintendo's more niche series I never hear anyone talk about, yet I'd say it's probably one of the best things the Gamecube gave us. I'd honestly put Pikmin 2 in the top 10 (or maybe even 5) GCN games.

I would say Mario Sunshine and Luigi's Mansion, but those two have definitely grown in popularity over time.

Is Sonic: Colors unpopular? I think it's pretty much the best 3D Sonic game by a longshot, but I don't hear much love for it. (granted, I do keep myself a mile away from the Sonic fandom...)

Well I agree with you on Mario Sunshine and Sonic Colors is considered to be one of the best 3D sonic game in general. Some even like it better than mania.

Final Fantasy VIII is my favourite of the "classic" Final Fantasies. While not without its flaws (imbalanced Magic/Junction system, abusable Limit system), it makes up for it by mixing up the battle system a bit (various trigger actions to make it more interactive), and has one of the best minigame quests of any JRPG.

I think I’m one of the few hopeless mutants that liked DragonAge II and Inquisition.

Metroid: Other M. Story needed about a half dozen more rewrites if for no other reasons than coherence and clarity, but the gameplay was fun enough.

Here's an even more unpopular opinion: SMS is better than 64 or Galaxy.

    Yeah, I said it.

    Here’s a few:

WWF In Your House (PS1) - the console-only follow-up to the Wrestlemania arcade game. It’s rougher and not as polished as its predecessor, and it gets a lot of crap for not being very good, but I had fun with it.

Pit Fighter (Genesis) - let’s be honest, Pit Fighter is shit. But the Genesis port is the most playable of all versions of the game, including the arcade. It has decent hit detection and the AI isn’t quite as cheap. I actually got some enjoyment out of it.

Tron 2.0 Killer App (XBOX) - the FPS action is just OK, the enemies can be really cheap in how accurate they are, and the game has a number of bugs, most commonly sound effects that don’t play. But the atmosphere and music really bring you into the world of Tron.

I also adore Super Mario Sunshine.

Most of my peers seemed to like Mario Kart 64 over Diddy Kong Racing, but DKR was the real mvp.

    Mortal Kombat: Sub Zero
    - I was able to adapt to the garbage controls & beat this game more than a few times. I like it’s atmosphere & cheesy cutscenes.

I’ll 2nd a vote for both Zelda 2 & Castlevania 2. Before it became popular to hate on them, I remember people loved those games when they were new.

    Megaman Legends
    - seems like it gets a lot of hate, but I love this little trilogy. The default controls suck, but I switch to the other config & it’s all good.

As a kid, I loved playing my little brother's copy of "Bugs Bunny's Birthday Blowout" for the NES, which was prominently featured on a episode of "The Angry Video Game Nerd" (and probably deservedly so). I thought it was a fun challenge, and felt great only being able to beat it a couple of times.
