Martin's been leaking information for a while on his blog, might want to check it out for more info. I too am looking forward to it, but I wish he'd just finish the next damn book first.

A Song of Ice and Fire is by far my favorite series of all time. I'm so looking forward to seeing if HBO can do it justice.

Looks like Spring 2011 is when we'll finally get to see the pilot. Hopefully Dance of Dragons is out before then.

Biggest problem I have so far is that it is moving pretty fast. I wish there were going to be more episodes so they could take the time to dwell just a little bit on what is going on or being set up. Then there's the acting which is hit and miss for me. Some seem to be spot on and giving it their all, a few seem very stiff and like they're reading a script in their head as opposed to being the character saying the line. Dinklage was great, as was Bean. Viserys got the whiny part down, but otherwise seemed wooden, and Sansa seemed mostly awful. I'm not sure how I feel about their ages all being higher than they are in the books, Caetlyn seems to stand out the most in this regard as she seems about 50 instead of mid 30's.

I didn't care for the changes made to the prologue as I felt they weakened the impact, and didn't like that they showed the guy make a repeated point for the men to get on their horses, and then they never do and are on their feet in the next shot. Seemed a little odd.

Otherwise it showed a lot of potential to be very good, and it should be considering the source material. I'll be hoping they get it right and are able to continue the series through all the books (and hoping the last few books get done in time). Any ideas of what they'll do with the title if they go to more seasons?

Theres a bunch of stuff like that in the books where you just want to tear your hair out and curse people. There are a few people that I actually said "YES" out loud when they died and a few that when I read go "Oh muther****er, I hope you die in the most horrible way possible"

What did you expect? TPTB said they will try to stay true to the books. I suggest you start reading the books.

As already said, the things do seem to happen too fast for my liking. The pilot should have lasted an hour and a half, not just over an hour. If that was the case then alot of important parts of the dialog would have been present, not omitted. For instance when Tyrion says to Jon Snow "All dwarves are bastards in their father's eyes", they left out "but not all bastards need be dwarves", which is an important part of that line IMO. They also left out the exchange between Dani and Drogo when he asks "Yes?". This way they made him a rapist and a quasy-pedo.

Heheh, I've got too much to read right now to jump on a new book. I was entertained by this in its form.

So I hosted a "Game of Thrones" viewing party, it was pretty awesome. My girlfriend made Lemon cakes and we bought "Hot pies".

The show got close enough to the source material for my satisfaction. I have minor issues with the way some characters are being portrayed, but overall, the heart of the series seems to be intact. Can't wait for the rest of the season and am so glad they've already green lit the second season.
