I hope I'm not the only person that thinks that in the possible fourth film they should have Megatron become Galvatron, Starscream become Cyclonus, Shockwave become Scourge and maybe even Soundblaster or Unicron making appearances. I hope this isn't the bazillionth thread about this idea but I am fine with it being locked.

Um, no-one wants that. Why? Because it's a super overused plot device and would basically prove that the movies have run out of ideas.

what if they introduced Galvatron out of the blue as Unicrons herald to take control of earth but keep a mystery till how he became Galvatron till the end of movie one at least. Unicron took megatrons body and upgraded him. Give Galvatron to raise the dead in the cases of starscream, soundwave and shockwave maybe. Or have him gather two new heavy hitters in astrotrain and blitzwing.

Prime uses the matrix on Ironhide to revive him, happy days(fan hope)

I understand if that something they need to do to keep the movie franchise going, but Transformers the Movie killed Transformers for me. I liked the first two years when I was 8 and 9 years old, so maybe I just grew out of Transformers. I thought Transformers was cool when they would change into normal stuff you see on Earth, but when all the new characters changed into spaceships and other stuff not from here, I lost interest.

Here is a plot that I came up with that would introduce Galvatron.

    Transformers: Rise of Galvatron:
    • Long ago, Primus and Unicron came into being as natural consequences of the universe's will to balance itself
    • Primus came into being as a creator, but Unicron came into being as a destroyer
    • Primus created all planets and forms of life, but Unicron destroyed many of them
    • Realizing that Unicron exists solely to work against him, Primus battled with Unicron and sealed him away in a resting place similar to his own
    • This resting place is known as Megamax
    • Primus then created Cybertron to serve as his resting place, at the center of which he rests as its core (i.e. Primus is the core of Cybertron)
    • Primus created the ALLSpark to re-energize Cybertron when necessary and create the Transformers to guard Cybertron
    • Awakened by the partial destruction of Cybertron, Primus emerges from the center of Cybertron and transforms from his planet-core mode
    • He warns the remaining Transformers that his energy-signature will rouse Unicron from his slumber.
    • Unicron, roused from his slumber, calls out to the Decepticons
    • Unicron has a special connection with the Decepticons because it is he who corrupted Megatronus Prime, turning him into The Fallen (the first Decepticon)
    • Unicron calls out to Straxus, ordering him to come to Megamax with Megatron's spark
    • There, Unicron orders Straxus to place Megatron's spark into a newly formed body and then reveals to him the Dead Matrix
    • He then orders Straxus to use the Dead Matrix to animate this new body, into which Megatron's spark has been placed
    • This newly animated being is named Galvatron
    • Galvatron becomes the leader of the Decepticons once again, kickinig off the next saga

I don't see why Galvatron HAS to be made from Megatron. He could just as easily be a new character, or a character who Megatron was made FROM instead.

Im with Aernoth..he can be his own character. Just because he started a s areformated MEgatron does not mean he always have to be.

I think that making Galvatron a character apart from Megatron is way too much of a divergence from the source material. It's okay to do things differently, but not completely differently.

I think that as long as the core aspects of his character are maintained, it wouldn't really be an issue. I mean, other than the few times in the comics and Webworld, Galvatron's origins in Megatron weren't really something the character focused on. I don't see it as much of a divergence, really, but major divergences in the movie-verse have paid off quite well for villains so far, as in the cases of Sentinel Prime and the Fallen.

A willingness to go outside of the source material will help the movie-verse to distinguish itself, and to tread new ground (which may be better suited to the medium) for the characters and the franchise rather than simply being a reincarnation of previous stories (which carry along the inevitable comparisons).

If fans want to stand proud and say "well its NOT G1!" about the movies (and rightfully show, they should be something new, separate, and capable of standing on their own), they must be willing for the movies to move away from previously established stories, characterizations, and canon.

Yes but it doesn't always have to be that way.
